The bookface post is in Polish language, but the video is in Russian. Most dash cam crash videos come from Russia actually. If you check YouTube, you'll find heaps of those videos.

Ireland was like that before the NCT :pac:

    Oh right!

We are lucky we don't get much snow. Most of those crashes are caused by driving too fast in icey conditions.

Quick question, would an E39 have Cruise Control if it doesn't have a MFSW?

My 520 doesn't have, no MFSW. 535 does, has the MFSW

Not as far as I am aware.

That said it should be all wired up for it so if you buy a MFSW from ebay it should be fairly handy to retrofit.

Definitely for the E46s apparently its prewired if you just buy a wheel with the buttons on it... Would be a good excuse to get an Msport wheel etc.

Yeah, might need some coding though but that's it AFAIK.

Too much bulky items really. A load or two in a transit would take everything down to Ballymount Civic Amenity.

Check you can head down there in a van!
They may view as commercial waste and then look to charge you, it's just what happened to me at Xmas I ended getting rid of the couch for free in the end and it was in bits!! You'd be surprised what people will take when it's free and they think they can fix it and make a couple quid!!!

Try Murphy's garage in ballymount for van rentals they where always reasonable enough the few times I got them for work.

Thanks lads, been looking at loads of E39's but would like Cruise Control on them and wasn't sure. Luckily most of them have the MFSW.

Don't settle for one that doesn't have what you want. It may be easier and cheaper and you'll have it sooner but you will forever regret not holding out for the one you really wanted.

Ah I know yeah, the spec I want is Dual Zone Climate, Cruise Control and MFSW, that'll do me. There's a really nice 2001 facelift 525i touring automatic for sale up in Dublin for 1850 that I'm very very tempted by.

They go that cheap due to the tax of 950 ish for the base 2.2 and 1080 for the 2.5.

Engine size goes against it obviously.

Nice spec but it's not an M-Sport.

    Keep loking. ;)

I was originally looking at M-Sports but I sat in my friends SE and found it very comfartable. The M-Sports seem to go for a decent bit more too.

I take it SE spec means softer springs (non sports suspension???) then the M sport - if so - id think its worth it if it meant a nicer ride.

Personally I also prefer the 5 series with chrome - I realise many don't though.

Actually I think theres never been a 5 series that looked better dechromed* - E 28, E34, E39, E60 and F10 - I think they all looked better with chrome tbh.

I take it not all the M sports had the black roof lining - that would be another reason to avoid M sports if so - only sat into one with it - and that was once too many - looks crap imo

*have never seen an E12 without chrome - I assume the E12s all had chrome.

The other problem is there is feck all decent looking 2.5 M-Sports, which is the engine I want.

I had an E39 SE before the 7er and an E39 M-Sport now. The M-Sport is a little harder for sure but the handling and drive is infinitely better.

It also sits a little lower and has a much better finish than the SE. Plus M-Sport wheels as opposed to what's on the touring.

The 2.5 block is sweet and has a real nice power to weight ratio. A 520 (2.2) is a little underpowered for sure but no slow coach and a major step up from a Yaris not to mention cheaper to run. I wouldn't rule a 520 out, especially if you come across a nice M-Sport. ;)

Oh believe me, I'd rather the M-Sport, find them way better looking.

Unfortunately a lot of them don't have the spec I want. Most of them either have Dual Zone or MFSW, not both.

If you find one without the MFSW that can be retrofitted easily as mentioned earlier.

Having had both it would be M-Sport or nothing for me. ;)

Looks like I'll just be doing a good bit of waiting for the right one to come along. Or simply go for the Tourer as I find that nice anyway.

I'd like to have a new car to go on nice drives/trips with for the Summer and the Yards is just not exciting. At all. I wouldn't mind Aircon for the Summer too :P

Black 520 Sport in Clare @ €2.2k with Alacantra.

    Chamagne (I think) 520 Sport in Limerick @ €2.5k with 18" BBS.

    ;)
