england being pros showed big time

In fairness to Ireland they tried their best but just not up to it. Fair play to them anyway

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

It is what it is. Pros against amateurs. Hate saying FairPlay they tried their best as it sounds condescending and wouldn’t be said if the men had that score but it really isn’t a level playing field

There’s a lot of low hanging fruit there for a coaching setup if the IRFU ever find the will to fully support one

The fact that England team are professional really showed but also the skill level of some of them was just a step above, noticed the English 9's passing was absolutely brilliant.

More crowds like that though and maybe the day where we have a pro womens team isn't too far away.

That scrum is so dominant. Should produce a few penalties.

Pretty even so far - actually a really good competitive contest.

Great to see Ali Miller back

Scrum half’s passing is properly abysmal

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,444 ✭✭✭caviardreams

Great finish to the half - Lyons did well there to get over

second try for ireland with clock in red.
    try for leah lyons

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

Good strength by Lyons to finish that off

Great to get that try just on half time. Pity neither try has been converted. Entertaining enough game.

15-5 now. Alison Miller with score.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,444 ✭✭✭caviardreams

Delighted for Miller - did very well there to make that pass

Some monster hits so far from Ireland. Gaineline carries at will.

They're just not incisive at the 22 and not kicking enough.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,967 ✭✭✭✭The Lost Sheep

    20-5. Caplis try

Serious patience and persistence there. Ireland looking dominant here

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,967 ✭✭✭✭The Lost Sheep

    Conversion added
    22-5

Lucky to get away with that. Only way Scotland have any chance is Irish errors. Gap in talent is pretty wide

How many people are at this game ???
How do women expect their games to get coverage / funding etc if they couldn't be arsed to go to the games ???
There will be more women at tomorrow's men's game than at this game !!!

In fairness there was quite a good turnout at Donnybrook last week iirc. But I totally agree with your point.

I was in the company of one Americas leading women in American business recently.
She was complaining about all the men she had to suffer in her line of work.
She was asking me about the situation regarding women in leading roles in Irish businesses .
She was telling me all the pga / tennis etc tournaments she had attended.
I told her .... All of them were men's events .
She had never been to a women's event !!!
It hit her .... She said and I quote
    " I'm a hypocrite "
How are women events going to prosper if I as a women don't support them .

You've just been told that home Irish games have decent attendances.
