    Recent sightings around Bray/Greystones.
The Toyota is a regular driver.
Apologies for the poor pic of the NX, sun was in my eyes and the mature owners were getting into the car; I didn't want to freak them out taking pics..

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,797 ✭✭✭Old diesel

That must be one of the very last NX100s.

That entire N14 Sunny family finished up in 1995 to be replaced byN15 Almera and derivatives

Great finds as usual. That NX is especially good, so rare now

I still remember seeing an NX for the first time - it was on a car transporter.

Some of the very last Irish N13 Sunnys were also on the transporter.

And the Sprinter - what a lovely attractive shape and design given that it was pretty much a normal Toyota hatchback when all was said and done.

For some odd reason for about 6 months in 1992 in the run out for the E90/92 era Corolla family Toyota offered this Sprinter body as a basic spec Corolla 1.3 XL. Anyone know what that the logic of that was all about (bit of a mystery to me).

Badging the Sprinter as a Corolla wasn't unprecedented mind you - the UK market version of what we got as a Sprinter 1.6 GLS was a Corolla 1.6 Executive - exact same car - different name.

Like the way the B11 Sunny in UK was a Sentra over here

    Fdq0ayB.jpg

    Toyota Carina II Hatchback.

Pic is kinda crap as it was taken through the windscreen in the rain with no-so-great wipers.

Original aircooled Beetle in orange earlier.

That VW aircooled engine noise is epic

For some reason I always had a grá for the Vanette as a kid.
    Great finds.

I’d say going on holidays with the Duke is interesting :D

“Will we go and see Circus Maximus?”

“Nah, I heard there’s another Vanette up this way”

They drive like maniacs in Rome. I was behind a vintage '73 van today but no pics unfortunately. (Pointless post)

    This mornings spots

    1996 Corolla van.

    1997 Peugeot 406.

That 406 is still a very elegant looking saloon. Aging quite nicely thank you very much (faded paint and all). Phase 1 front end looks nicer then Phase 2.

Strongly suspect the trendy new Pug SUVs won't look as well in 21 years time.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,797 ✭✭✭Old diesel

    Further spots

    93/94 Nissan Sunny 1.6 SLX

    98 Mitsubishi Lancer.

    01 Daewoo Lanos

Normally wouldnt count a 01 but the Lanos is relatively rare

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,797 ✭✭✭Old diesel

    Right yet more spots.

    1990 Corolla van

    1995 Starlet

Phase 1 Peugeot 406 UK registered poverty spec NO tinted glass. Couldnt see a year but phase 1 was from 96 to late 99

    1999 Ford Focus

    2000 Fiat Siciento

And just literally as I'm typing this

a 1999 mk 1 Yaris in I'm too tight to pay for metallic dark green

Saw a 1948 Rolls Royce Silver Wraith wedding car, but couldn't take a pic as I was driving.

Those posts are useless without photos in my opinion

    I get your point

I took a photo of a 00 Almera earlier and tried to take a pic of a Mitsubishi FTO but it wasn't great.

It usually isn't practical to just whip out a phone and take a pic.

The Sunny I saw - I literally only had time to basically see it was a Sunny 1.6 SLX of 93/94 vintage.

I only know it's a 1.6 SLX because I remember the colour keyed bumpers and the brown tinted glass from when the cars were new.

There's an "attach files" option under where you post.
