Sounds quite tempting! Is this the kind of phone that any Tesco stores in the North would have in stock? I'm up that way tomorrow and might pick one up. Was gonna wait for 1020, but other than camera is there anything major I'd be missing out on with this one? Certainly seems like this phone would be a good upgrade from my 800. Can't find a stock checker or anything on the Tesco website...

Back in stock with Tesco now and code TDX-PWG3 reduces price to £ 200 (just under € 240).

Edit Amazon have also price-matched by the looks of things with the red model (click the Amazon link as seller on the right), but it's a 2-4 weeks wait....

I wonder if this price is going to fall a good bit further before Christmas?

I went from a HTC 8X to a Samsung S4, and I have to say the 8X is better in almost every regard. The S4 has a worse camera, it's generally stuttery and slower doing everything and can be buggy at times. The WP8 OS is simply awesome, lightning fast and yet having far worse specs on paper, and the camera will be better; as the 920 has one of the best cameras out there at the minute.

I switched a few months back having had several Droids beforehand (Note 1 and 2, Galaxy S2 etc) and while I initially worried that I'd miss certain apps I've found I haven't lost a thing really.. plus as Alanstrainor says it zips along.. no lag, great build quality and screen and the camera (if that's a big thing you look for) is excellent.

Mine is an unlocked AT&T version that I've flashed with a generic ROM so it gets all the latest updates from MSFT/Nokia as they're released

Yep.

Also add your existing operators apn / picturd messaging settings & your good to go.

( your operator may even send these to you over the air when you insert the sim).

I just put in my mobile number and it worked fine and it shipped straight away.

I couldnt fill out the address for parcel motel that included my account number though and had to get in contact with them. They just said to send them the shipping details

I added the PM code as my Surname, and my full name in the first name part...

Will find out how it goes in a few days I guess.

Worked out about €80 more expensive than replacing the screen that I broke after a year of constant use. Well pleased with the phone since I got it so no need to change imo.

i used Parcel Motel there even tho it gave no option to put my PM ID in. I just emailed customer service at Parcel Motel to let them know that only my name was on it and to match it up with my PM ID

in case anyone else wants to use Tesco Direct, i emailed Parcel Motel and they said the Nightline Logistics address is fine, so long as it has the PM number on it

Hi guys im hoping ye can help me. I have been looking at this phone now for a while and finally decided today to buy it. Im running into a few problems on the tesco site. Firstly people have mentioned putting their PM ID in as the surname. It wont allow me do that as it only accepts letters. Secondly it says that the processing of my (Irish) credit card failed. Am I doing somthing wrong?

I bought this through parcel motel through my irish c/c. you may have read in previous posts that i forgot to put my PM ID on the order, this entailed a lot of annoying back and forth phone calls to parcelMotel but i got the phone eventually after a few days. If you can, just find some way of setting your acc up with the PMid somewhere.

apart from that, its a good phone. battery life is very poor though, and reception drops a lot tbh if in pocket, maybe needs a software update,still getting used to it tbh

Put your PM ID in the surname field, but do it alphabetically i.e. PMOneTwoThreeFourFive.

Not sure about the card issue tbh.

Thanks for the reply! They do put your full name on the address label yes? I managed to add my PM ID as my surname afterall. When i created my account it only allowed me to use letters for the first and last name, but when you get to the confirmation page for purchasing the product you can edit your name and put in anything you want! As for the credit card, it was my bank blocking it due to suspicious activity. They rang not long after i posted So now hopefully it's on the way!
