And all menus are now working on the app for anyone who wants a nosey

Edit: scratch that, prices are in sterling and app ordering not available, must be working on it

App seems to be working now......

Prices seem pretty decent, only 7.95 for a large breakfast with tea and toast in the city centre is great value

Security on each door, some with bodycams - at 4pm

They'll need to make some locals know they aren't wanted quite firmly in the early days at least

Pints seem pricey for Whetherspoons but the wine is really cheap at 2.75.

The cost of wine in many places in town is scandalous, e8 a glass plus!

    Yes
    Yes

Price of a glass of wine even in not top class establishments is shocking.

Can't go wrong with the price of a glass in the new wetherspoons, I might even have to try it and report back!

As soon as I saw them start on that site I knew well they'd have to have security on top form there. A fine summers day combined with child benefit day and they'll feel the pinch trying to remove a few with tables of drink left at closing.

There are much better beers than lagunitas there.

Both the Bengali and Lo-Res are far better for a start.

I know, just pointing out the cost, I'd be on the cask if I wasn't on the whiskey. Still that's a 20-30 euro saving over other bars.....

Its very Spoons-y, having used them for hangover breakfasts all across England (primarly Northern England) the Irish ones until now weren't so obviously Spoons.

Has anyone submitted the carpet to the carpet blogger yet? :pac:

Nahh. They're all unmistakably 'Spoons. Blackrock is just in miniature.

I thought the Blanchardstown one looked quite nice. The photos of Abbey Street interior remind me of a UK airport 'Spoons, but on a larger scale.

Looks alright apart from that wall painted in baby blue. I daresay it is better decorated than most of the other pubs in the area.

Looks like a cross between a hotel lobby and an airport.

Usual teething problems tonight, ran out of ice, ran out of limes, staff not knowing how to regulate gas/pull cask. 45 minutes from ordering food on the app to arrival..... Probably won't head back in for a week or two to let them sort it out......

That's only one room. The place is huge. It's literally a multi-storey maze, and generally very tastefully decorated.

    All in the app.

Heineken, Budweiser, Coors, Stella, San Miguel: €4.45
That's the import Heineken and Stella. Much nicer than the ones brewed here.

    Carlsberg: €3.75 and Foster's €3.45.

The likes of Huzzar is €3.75 and that includes the softdrink.

Why was my entire post removed as opposed to the supposedly offensive word?

As an aside, this 'offensive word' was funnily enough not picked up by the offensive language content filter.

DL is more like a airport bar to me. Speaking of airport bars I wonder will Spoons ever try to open up a bar in Dublin Airport as they're in most reasonably sized UK airports.

Was there from Friday afternoon to about 12ish.

As has been said a few teething issues which I hope they get sorted - app ordering not as slick as it should be, kitchen and toilets were out of action for a few hours due to some power issues

It was pretty buzzing, it's absolutely massive inside and a bit of a maze when you first go in but it was packed in every section.

It definitely has that "feel" of a spoons - similar to a hotel or airport bar. Staff all very sound I must say.
