there's actually a big potential for snow in the coming weeks and in some places there will be lots of it !

I think this thread is more for chart and synoptics at this stage , The LRF's are bust , all thats left is the " I told you so"'s " "Why didnt it snow " type of posts when it comes to LRF's

This isnt the post mortem its an ongoing thread thread for whats happening ahead of us ( again Im speaking as a poster not a mod here)

Im not sure , I would presume so for that type of post

There will be a feedback thread at the end of the winter , discussing issues and bans will be for there.

It would be fantastic to see this more often;)

UKMO 0z good for cold and completely consistent yet again this morning and not bad support from lesser models. GFS is different but potentially snowy in its own way. all the cold 120+ hrs away and not deep cold and Ireland most marginal but set ups with lots of potential at least for white gold! ecm still not out but this the most reliable model was not good for cold last we saw (12z yesterday).

Quite a bit of snow is likely for the west and south on Sunday night. Hilly areas look blizzard like

MT for Sunday "slightly colder later in the day"
Lets see who's closer to the mark tomorrow

Sunday is the day , There might be a surprise or two coming :)

Snow would be inland as coasts too mild with sea effect for snow

Any surprise for the East Coast on a Sunday?

So no real change in the models this morning. UKMO brings in the deep cold by the weekend with -8 uppers over Leinster at least. It has been very consistent the last few days. GFS has the coldest uppers in the North Sea, and the ECM is similar by Friday. Looks odds on for a cold snap midweek at least.

Again as i said , main areas of interest would be the North and West and higher up any further inland.

Could be some blizzard like conditions in High areas of the North .

Still looking good for tomorrow , now its looking like a midlands and hill regions in the east.

    Dewpoints looking good!

500-1000 tickness also looking good for low level snow . Most below 522.

ENjoy folks :) im off to work.. :(

Just saw the charts now and cannot get my head around the differences between GFS and UKMO at 120 hrs. Very different

Wet snow possible in Dublin tomorrow evening but wont be cold enough to stick though on saturated ground.

    290662.png

Mountains should get a nice dusting.

Still though , ill take wet snow over no snow anyday! :D

Connemara mountains will be white, as for lower levels in galway id doubt it. Maybe east galway will have some.

Snow showers should pack into the west by early afternoon with lying snow likely on hills by this evening. Blizzards possible in places.
