Looks like a sausage fest

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,231 ✭✭✭Hercule Poirot

There was an unusual atmosphere at the San Mames II Stadium as days of uncertainty regarding the future of M. Poirot have lead to both suspicion and rumours flying in all directions. Representatives from Roma have been spotted in Bilbao and M. Poirot has also been spotted at the Stadio Olimpico. Looking rather dishevelled the current Athletic Club manager apologised for yesterday's no-show stating that he had "got lucky" on Friday with "a real go-er" and had only just come up for air. He then gave the following statement:

"As the storms rage and the internal struggle between good and evil refuses to subside there can only be one outcome - it is with a song in my heart and profuse humility that I proclaim that I cannot leave. When one has toiled and broken themselves both physically and mentally to produce greatness a bond stronger than titanium can form...."

At this point in the statement the Athletic Club President embraced the manager, tore up the restraining order and they had a brief smooch before leaving together, hand-in-hand

    Palermo quit.

Strangely enough he just signed Coloccini and had a bid accepted on Huntelaar.

Now i cant stand Huntelaar but having your offer on him acceped is no reason to quit ... Coloccini on the otherhand :p

Looks like Phobia (Club america manager) got the Everton job and Benfica manager got the Roma job since Hercule turned it down. If in both cases Benfica and Phobia turn down those jobs, baz is next in line.

So looks like Phobia for Everton and Benfica/Baz for Roma

Does the Benfica manager have a limited amount of time to take up the Roma job OR can he take as long as he wants? I'll take the Roma job in a shot if it's offered to me.

As for the AS Roma Vacancy

Not being smart but if phobias post said hat in for Roma and Everton and he has won the Everton gig shouldn't he be discounted from the Roma gig so no? I mean he didn't mention withdrawing from Everton like?

So in other words if Benfica withdraws from the Roma gig it should be Baz next?

Also, the boards user with the SM username "Lord Flasheart" (as a tribute to the late and great Rik Mayall I presume!) has re-applied to take charge of US Palermo. I presume you probably want to accept him back rather than open it up for applications. That said, I've already received interest from one current manager in the Palermo vacancy.

I disagree. Even in real life you can have two clubs chasing the same manager, so why not here?

It wouldn't be fair on Phobia to be disqualified from applying from one top team because he's expressed an interest in another vacancy which he may or may not win the race for, and he did only win the race for Everton due to the manager ahead of him rejecting the contract offer from Everton.

Does Benfica have a limited amount of time before he accepts the Roma gig or is it infinite? Anyone?

There was rumblings before, am sure a set time was brought in.

Anyways whatever it is starts from Wilberto's last posts there.

Nothing wrong with applying for the two jobs for me neither.

I've PM'd him on SM now anyway and said he has 24 hours to accept as that is the generally accepted principle so far in this league. Also, as his decision could potentially affect the Everton vacancy, it is important that it is sorted tomorrow evening at the latest so that we can have the two managers installed before Thursday's round of games.

Also presumably in case the vacant clubs start losing players to Unmanageds/Externals ...

If they're vacant then they won't be able to sell anyone as buying from unmanaged clubs is turned off, meaning no team can sign players from them (including other unmanaged teams or externals).

Anyway, the Benfica manager has accepted the Roma offer, meaning Phobia can now apply for Everton as soon as possible.

The chairman of Dynamo Kiev, Ihor Surkis, would now like to invite applications from all interested parties to fill their managerial post which has recently become vacant. Surkis had hoped to secretly land another manager using highly unorthodox and questionable methods, but numerous approaches to a current manager were repeatedly rebuffed.

The manager in question, believed to be Wilberto of Estudiantes De La Plata (currently third in Division 3), denied to comment on any speculation linking him to the Dynamo Kiev chairman instead opting to reaffirm his commitment to the Argentinian club. It now seems that Surkis has given up all hope of landing his preferred managerial candidate. However, it is yet unknown as to whether Estudiantes, or indeed Wilberto himself, will submit a formal complaint to the SMFA disciplinary committee over the alleged tapping up of the talented Cork native.

Applications for Dynamo Kiev now open :

    Closing Deadline : 10th June 2015 @ 2200

Team | Funds | No. of Players | Avg Rating | Total Value | Division
    Dynamo Kiev | 1.0m | 90 | 89 | 259.8m | 2

I meant to invite applications for the role of SL Benfica manager yesterday, so I'll do it now instead. :)

SL Benfica actually have a strong team, which include the likes of Edin Dzeko (92), Antonio Valencia (91), and Riccardo Montolivo (91), along with a whole host of 90 rated, and 89 rated, players.
