I'll keep this short and sweet.

After having a good think I can't bring myself to leave Schalke, just have put too much work and effort into building my squad of top young players.

I'm turning down the Roma job.

So (not looking at anyone in particular, Wilberto) how many jobs are available now and who's applied for what and what are their ratings?! :P

Ripping up my CV and looking for the receipt for those expensive Lederhosen I bought!

    Good choice mate.

    Applications for Barcelona now open
    Closing Deadline : 14th October 2015 @ 01:00

Team | Funds | No. of Players | Avg Rating | Total Value | Division
    Barcelona | 293.4m () | 64 | 91 | 342m | 1

Managers Applying for the Barcelona vacancy :

Manager | Current Club | Manager Ranking | Total Points | Avg Points | No. of Games
    MrMac84 | Borussia Dortmund | 6 | 589 | 1.85 | 318
    Ricky O'Flaherty | Chelsea | 18 | 499 | 2.01 | 248
    Hercule Poirot | Athletic Bilbao | 18 (?) |492 | 1.88 | 262
    Wilberto | Estudiantes | 23 | 469 | 1.83 | 256
    Baza Rakus | Internazionale | 28 | 433 | 1.77 | 244

The job looks to have MrMac84's name sewn all over it!! However, is there going to be a dramatic late entrance?

Also, I have no idea why, but SM says that both Ricky and Hercule are ranked 18. It's very easily settled as Ricky has 7 more manager points which moves him above Hercule but it's still a strange one.

In a bizarre turn of events, despite talks in Gelsinkerchin ending up in failure despite looking extremely promising for Roma, reports from Argentina are suggesting that they are now set to offer there initially preferred candidate a healthy long term contract. The candidate in question, believed now to be Wilberto of Estudiantes, had initially proved to difficult to prize away from the Argentinian club but, due to a rather sizeable compensation package offered in return for their much adored manager, they eventually allowed Wilberto to speak to the Roma club official.

As we speak, negotiations are at an advanced stage, and the talented and astute manager is due to sign for the Italian giants tomorrow morning.

TLDR: I'm taking Mourinho's decision to turn Roma down as a sign that I should take them over so I'm applying for them, and since they're available for over 24 hours, it means I get the job by default! :pac:

Some sports news outlets are claiming that MrMac84 could be unveiled as the club's new manager by tonight, or tomorrow morning at the latest. Bookemakers have long stopped taking bets on who the new Barca manager may be, with some even paying out already.

Congrats Mac! The job's yours, should you still want it. :)

After winning the league in his first season at Dortmund things haven't reached those heights since for MrMac. He reportedly flew into Spain yesterday too begin talks with the mighty Barcelona who he belives should be title contenders every season. He was over heard as saying the chance too work with the likes of Messi & Ronaldo was too good too turn down. After famously falling out with Robert Lewandowski and then selling him for unknown reasons (some sources claim the fact Lewandowski DIDNT go on a weekend long bender with MrMac after winning the league was the reason for the fall out,) whilst at Dortmund one thing will be for certain and that's no player will be safe if Barcelonas stars do not start too preform in the League. It's not known if any Dortmund players will be following MrMac too Barcelona, if rumors are too be belived. Reports from Spain are gearing up for a long night outside the Camp Nou hoping for a glimpse of the new manager, although crafty reporters from Germany, who are familiar with gaffers methods have been seen Googleing "5star hotels in Barcelona with Bud Ice on tap" we'll keep ye up dated as the night progress's

Not yet. He's still managing them. We'll at least allow him the courtesy cleaning out his office in peace before we open it up to public viewings for other managerial candidates. :pac:

*Estudiantes have only just become available so you will have to wait 24 hours on the off chance that an internal manager wants to take them over. This is highly unlikely though (unfortunately) so they will probably become available for all after that.

    ^^^^^

Is that the most available teams there has ever been in the GW?

Would it be worth doing another round of advertising in the soccer forum or in the football manager forum?

It is too you know. I remember commenting a year or so ago we nearly had a full division free, so to speak. Think it was 14/16 free teams then, it's 26 now.

Nearly a division and a half free

Already done. Usually when I do up this table nowadays I post it in both threads! :)

How does the owner of teh GW not manage to ressign and take the new job straight away?!

I think this is one of these 'experiencing how normal people live' experiences, mac loading up on beer and not resigning or applying for the new job to spite the masses AND mac has decided he wont be accepting himself at barca for 2-3 days after ... after all, its how most applications go ;)
