I don't listen to the radio because I have a life and i have money.
But if I did have to listen to the radio I would listen to fm104 for the breakfast show in the car, rte radio 1 in work and 4fm the rest of the time.

Screw the ppi, this is boards off a leash.

I listen to iradio for its intellectual discussions.

    You're so sound!

I like the DJ on 2FM good mix of talk and music. Tubridy is much better on the radio than TV.

Yeah his face is much better suited to radio alright. His mush wouldn't put you in the best of form of a Friday evening when you're on the dry.

The only radio station I have tuned in my car is newstalk, all my friends laugh at me because I'm only 22 and apparently only old people listen to newstalk.

I don't listen to the radio because I have a life and i have money.

I know you.... And you have neither!

Also... If I could have just one radio station it would be BBC radio 4.

(its like RTE r1 with talent).

Only listen to the radio at work, and we usually have Today FM on from 9am - 2pm, then 2FM from 2pm onwards.

Irish radio? Very little. BBC R4 and R4 extra can be really good at times though. Iphone app, so I don't know if it counts. No AM or FM involved...

I loved his top notch interview with Jerry Bruckheimer re: the Lone Ranger movie.

Didn't know you knew her personally.

I think he's a lot less biased and more honest than any of the dickheads on RTE. Like Joe the millionaire Duffy but who pretends to care about people's money troubles. Yeah course he does!

Newstalk is the only Irish radio station I listen too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 443 ✭✭Elbaston

Irish radio for me is pretty damn disappointing. Today I was just thinking how shyte the music selection was.

    Nova can be good.
    104 good occasionaly,

the 104 phone show can be very good...at least the bit where they're taking the piss...after that its a predictable 'controversial' question with 2 obvious and opposing answers trumpeted by morons and skangers.

Spin 1038 and SW have this effect on me.
Housemates had it on few times. I counted around four Rihanna songs within two hours once. The constant loop of top 30/40 songs can be mind numbing.

Big D radio- nothing has come close since:(

When i lived in Ireland i really liked Newstalk. Used to listen to Today fm but music in general got so overwhelmingly bad i gave up.

Did like Darcy though. Grumpy but fair!

I listen to random stations on Tune-In.

Currently it is AfriRadio Gambia 107.6.

From the Gambia, believe it or not.

I wouldn't really listen to the radio in the car or at home . If I'm out and about I'll listen to power 106 (los angeles) or hot 97 (new york) on my phone .

Radio 1 in the morning and evening commutes, Newstalk during the day.

BBC Radio 6 is my station of choice.
I think they play a really good selection of music and have dj's who are passionate about the music they play.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,318 ✭✭✭✭Menas

I listen to Nova, they play great music but the DJs are just woefull -especially that fella who does the morning show.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,928 ✭✭✭✭rainbow kirby

Newstalk, Absolute Radio, Talk Sport, BBC Radio 5.

Swear I'm still in my 20s...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,052 ✭✭✭Matt_Trakker

Don't really listen to much radio,. mostly music/talk podcasts, without ads.

    1st: Spotify
    2nd: Pandora
then a few podcasts from home,

    2nd Captains - Irish times
    Off the Ball
Newstalk podcasts - Moncreiff & the History show.

Maybe some SportTalk or BBC 5 Live in the mornings on the TuneIn Radio App.

Don't really like radio a lot tbh, too many ads and being interrupted by news updates/traffic/weather etc.

I'm very similar. I listen to those four as well as the occasional program on BBC Radio 4 or Today FM.

None via FM mind, all internet radio these days.

BBC 6 Music, the only decent music station in the world.

  • Moderators, Regional East Moderators Posts: 23,238 Mod ✭✭✭✭GLaDOS

Only really listen to radio in work, which usually switches between Radio Nova and Today Fm. Nova would be my preference (though it can get very repetitive). Today fm is tolerable.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,569 ✭✭✭Hoop66

BBC R4 for talk, BBC R6 for music. A bit of Phantom or Newstalk if I must.

Irish radio, especially talk radio, is pretty poor I'm sorry to say.

If I could create a fantasy music station it would be a bit of XFM from London in the 90s, before it became landfill indie on rotation, and every John Peel show ever.

I listen to the radio when I am driving during the day. Either BBC radio 4 or BBC radio 1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,122 ✭✭✭BeerWolf

I tend to listen to 98FM for the sake of it, just for the quirky talks, in the morning and late afternoon while I'm driving. :pac:

And on a side note - what ever happened to that Jazz station in Dublin ? I can't seem to find it no more.
I don't listen to the radio because I have a life and i have money.

What the hell does listening to the radio got to do with having a life or money? A lot of people listen to it while driving or working...

I like Moncrieff, he's a funny fcuker with some strange guests, interesting subject matter and the texts the show gets are well random.
