Is this no getting off at all, or is just no fapping but you can still have sex?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,480 ✭✭✭Chancer3001

I wouldn't be able to sleep....

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,072 ✭✭✭keithsfleet

Tried this last week, lasted 8 days.
Well worth doing if even only for the first fap after a prolonged period. It was awesome! Those 8 days were the longest I've gone in probably 15 years

Longest I ever went was a whole bus trip to Galway city without a fap.. I live in Salthill.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,382 ✭✭✭petes

Is this something people actually think about and do? Give up **** for a bit and see how long you last and actually count how many days.

Too much time time on your hands..well you do now anyway!!

I think there is a bit of a misconception around that abstaining will increase your testosterone levels. My personal opinion, and according to this, is that it doesn't.

Does anybody know of some scientific study that proves that it does increase your levels?

  • Registered Users Posts: 58,456 ✭✭✭✭ibarelycare

Are you allowed still have sex?

I tried the 30-day challenge with some friends before, but lost on the first night  The only reason I lost is because I was thinking about NOT being able to do it and I got horny and caved! I don't know what's the longest I could go. Sometimes it could be a couple of weeks and I mightn't have even thought about it. Although I'm in a relationship so I'd be having regular sex so not sure if that counts!

well i havent been trying on purpose but ive gone 5 weeks now. Il probably go a bit longer too just to see how long i can get. its probably the longest time since i started.

What about the opposite, when you do it too much, that at the end, your nob looks like a goldfish out of the bowl on the ground. Empty reaching so to speak...

    I failed already :o.

This challenge is only for single people, right?

    From Reddit:
An Orgasm is temporary, self-control is permanent. One brings peace, the other brings suffering. See through the temporary illusions of human life.

I assume this challenge originated from religious people. though. What the hell's wrong with a ****?

Breathing in passive smoke increases the chances of lung cancer, I suggest stop breathing in, can we have a "NoBreathingIn" challenge to support this movement?

Makes about as much sense as no fap...

no you could be right. i'm getting the silent treatment at the moment, so havent had any in the last 4 days!!! :( longest in a while, and i'm starting to believe that the longer you go without, the less you "need" it and not the other way round.

Too much of anything is a bad thing. I think you can go into sexual/adrenal exhaustion from overmasturbation which is 4-5+ times daily, AFAIK.

Sure what would I know, I'm blind

It's not the testosterone levels that benifit from abstaining prior to a major event like a Marathon. It's that the body isn't tired and has been rested.

    As Mickey said:

    "Women weaken the legs, Rock!"

It's better not to be recovering from an event, while you partake in another.

It doesn't increase levels, but helps with controlling dopamine secretion and tolerance (in addition to giving a measure of self control). You'll find stuff out there saying that once you've cracked one off, there'll be a testosterone increase for a brief period afterwards.

The dopamine tolerance goes down the more you feed it (like alcohol), so it takes much more to give you that "feel good" feeling you get. Abstaining for a few days/weeks will help to reset it to a lower tolerance level. That seems to be the real reason to take on such a challenge.

I'm too horny to stop ****. I'd be suicidal after two days without a **** or a shag.

Breathing isn't a choice. **** is. Unless you walk around whipping it out in public. Does the judge believe you when you use the excuse "I'm sorry, but I just had to".

That's the scary thing, I'd say most blokes are the same.

One thing to point out about no fap is that fapping isn't considered bad. It's fapping regularly with porn. This is because eventually the brain associates sexual arousal with porn and not women. One of the symptoms that a lot of people get is erectile dysfunction. They are unable to sustain an erection or interest in women for a long period of time. And this is because of the way the brains reward system relates the rewards (dopamine) to porn rather than women. they recon it can taake between 30 to 90 days of abstainance for the brain to reset.

many consider fapping to be perfectly natural and ok so long as it isn't overdone and porn isn't either.

    Who reckons?

Is there some independent, scientific evidence for this?

yep. there is. A lot of people who are on no fap experience Ed and that's the reason they start the challenge.

    watch this.

I mean, how hard can it be? I reckon I could pull it off no problem.
Just for a few days would be easy, read a book or listen to music instead, maybe go to the cine kjdg;kdgvksjgvskjagdvlgavldjgvlgvjkdbvljdgvljhsvjshdbslca

    Hehehehehe :D

A not touching yourself challenge. Interesting.

Stopped for over a month (just over a month) during a prolonged holiday abroad.

It's boredom that casues it mainly!

Didn't we used to call this No Fap September a few years back?

The science behind fapping is kinda off-putting. You get a testosterone boost for a short while after you cum, but if you're overdoing it the excess testosterone is converted into dihydrotestosterone which is the cause of hair loss on the head and the promoter of hair growth on the body.
There is a bit of truth in the old wives tales that **** causes hair loss, but only in extreme, excessive situations -like having a pull 5+ times every solid day, 365.

AFAIK the recomemded amount you should fap is 2-3 a week. I do far, far more than that, but jesus, I might pull back a small bit.

Having sex is different and doesn't bring the downsides because there are different chemical rushes when you're with someone else instead of your hand. That's why you often feel energised after sex but maybe tired after a ****.

All I know is I'd easily give up **** for life if it meant I was getting sex in the same abundance! :D
