Maybe these hacks can write their own original inclusive play instead of plagiarising the works of others?

I didn’t think the hacks were the ”issue”. Was it not they their hands were tied so they could only cast lads and the venue cancelled on them for that?

An easy mistake to make, in fairness. They have so much in common.

Also, her reaction to any question she's uncomfortable with usually involves "but, but, but - Sinn Fein"

Does this woman ever take a breath when waffling??

The one from OTB said they were at Rascals Brewery last night.

She has all the signs, poor prep for the sports slot as usual.

On Newcastle V Liverpool, it won't go down well if Newcastle hammer Liverpool due to the rivalry "up that part of the country". That would be Newcastle on the North East Coast of England and Liverpool on the North West Coast, about 200 miles from each other.

Her GAA knowledge is Junior Infants standard, looks like a few soundbites are picked up in the office from her colleagues before she comes on.

A massive step down from Eoin Sheehan.

Oh noes, say it isn't so. People who are on social welfare as a lifestyle option surely can't exist??

    They're like unicorns, totally imaginary!

I’m all for vaccines, but not a hope I’d give a new born or my kids covid vaccine at this point.

Did they say it was, mostly, for ones with underlying issues, or in families where someone might have one?

No all babies over 6 months now can get it, NIAC approved it https://www.rte.ie/news/coronavirus/2023/0217/1357153-child-vaccines/

i didn’t get it for my young children when there age was approved. Myself and Mr pc7 weighed it up, they are healthy, no underlying issues and we just felt the fact it wasn’t a severe Illness for their ages with variants that were about, that they’d keep needing a vaccine and it wouldn’t stop them getting it, we’d roll dice. One of them got it. Was sick and off for a few days but fine, other has never caught it that we’ve found. I followed eu countries that weren’t giving it to healthy kids and I’m glad I did.

sorry not trying to derail just backing up why I think it’s madness to give it to babies. I’m vaccinated myself and paid for vaccines that weren’t on schedule here for my kids (men b, they now are).

Why, when they talk about an extra payment in your wages in Dublin, is it only for teachers/nurses/guards.

Do the rest of the people in the private sector not need help (I'm in rural Ireland). Why do we continually have to give extra to the people on a guaranteed income, with sick leave, extra holidays, maternity leave, 5 year career gaps. FFS what about he rest of the workers

Private companies pay a premium if they have to, to get the staff they need.

The minister was talking about the same thing for critical public jobs.

He did, however, more or less rule out a weighting for Dublin.

Pathetic there are kids (and at least one fully grown man in his 40s who should know better) stopping planes with drones here and we're fluffing around wondering what to do.

    Jokeshop.

Why is Pat giving that spoofer Harry "Everyone who is anyone" Crosbie a platform?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,171 ✭✭✭✭whisky_galore

Ah poor oul Harry can't get free tickets for the Point, me heart bleeds.

But eventually, I got out of his headlock. And now, where are you, Father Eamonn Hunter? Working with some pygmies in the South Seas.

Private companies do not pay premium, lots of people are on minimum wage working in Dublin. I’m talking about normal jobs, not high tech. What do you consider critical public jobs? Bus drivers, dart services, man working in petrol station, shop workers; supermarket workers? These are the critical jobs we need to function. If they bring in weighting in Dublin it has to be for all worker, not the protected precious public servants.

The private company I work for are in Dublin, and pay a lot more for staff in similar companies outside Dublin. It’s the only way we can get staff. We also charge more to our customers, to recover the extra costs.

In a way it’s a viscous circle, but the solution is way above my pay grade -:).

When I say critical public jobs, I mean just public jobs.

The private jobs you talk about- supermarket workers, petrol station staff etc. will find their own level through competition, same as is happening in my workplace.

This interview with Drew Harris is great. He should do more of these longer-form interviews with heads of the public service.

Would be nice if he got more time to interview/interrogate heads of public servide unions as well, like the various Teachers Unions.

Looks, or in this case, words can be deceiving from what I've heard about him.

Drew Harris actually answered all the questions. He is pretty media-savvy. Every department secretary-general should be interviewed by journos

He's a policeman isn't he! Par for the course?

Constantin Gurdgiev has surfaced again on Pat Kenny this morning. Back in the day he was o the radio more frequently than Mammy O'Rourke!

discussing Credit Suisse situation in his usual hyper capitalist manner

He had moved to the US but is ow apparently back as an assistant professor in Trinity.

Seems like a step down for him - perhaps the US of A is a cold place for Russians in the current climate

Called an adjunct professor. Would he still be in the US and doing a spell/term in TCD?

    Mairead: erm, eh, erm, eh
