Anybody else find it odd that Mitchell isn't in the wallabies squad? Are we talking politics or is Berrick Barnes that good?

Folau has emerged as a back three player.

Jones made some ground there with 5 men hanging off him to open up the defence there.

    Very good work there.

Warburton is constantly touted as a top class seven. It's supposedly the back bone of his game and the thing that sets him apart

He's played 3 halves of rugby on this tour and made a total of zero turnovers

Contrast that to POC who has made 4 turnovers in 50minutes of play since since the babaa's game

Absolute class from POC, Heaslip, AWJ in that build up. Their hands and clear outs were brilliant. POC in particular has been immense.

Phillips too slow, he s getting murdered on the fringes.

I reckon Australia will target that next week.

I've been saying it for Months but Phillips is not up to scratch with his delivery and imo we don't need his breaking threat

POC has been fantastic. Brilliant tackling, hitting rucks, winning turnovers, carrying very well, and his handling has been great. Some lad. AWJ has been making a strong case to partner him next week too.

I haven't been too excited about BOD this year because he doesn't have the attacking threat he used to, but it must be said, without him, the backline defense is much much weaker.

When did POC have a double hand transplant?

Twice today he's had lightning quick ball move though those shovels!

    Great try

Phillips sniping is being shut down, so his main threat is gone. Would like to see Youngs come on and see how he gets on.

Are you watching the same game!! Warburton has had an excellent start to this game his work at the breakdown has been what you want from a 7 slowing the ball down at every opportunity and tackling well allowing the next man in to effect the turnover. Is also captaining them well as obviously got on right side of ref and allowing his senior players like POC to also have an influence

you say this as if warburton has a choice?

Very impressed with AWJ today. More tries out wide if Phillips get the hook. Wonder with Heaslip have a quiet one today could we possibly see SOB at 8 on in the 1st?

POC standout player so far imo.

That lay-off with injury seems to have done Paulie the world of good

Folau has emerged as a back three player.

For sure, seen him play league, an absolute animal...but not sure if he's got the union brain Mitchell has. Having said that I think Folau, if he hits his straps, could well be the aussie player of the series.

    POC immense.

    Utter utter class

Good game, really impressed with waratahs

heaslip needs a big second half, he has done ok but made a huge error that could have been a turning point

    poc outstanding,

croft, zebo, davies and sexton good too

first test team is hard to call, is bod even a guaranteed starter?

Case closed, I think. Parling on the bench for athleticism and line out option later on. Don't think the others have come close.

Croft also showing up well in the line out as was the plan.

Think we're seeing the starting pack now today unless someone does something special off the bench. All have performed and shown up well.

    Forgot to mention guys:

Talksport every week have live Commentary and each week have 1 Lion in the co-commentary. This week it is SOB.

Michael Lyangh - SOB doing the co-comm.

Interesting stuff from him well worth tuning in.

Phillips, warburton, maitland and heaslip have been poor. O Connell, Wyn Jones,Zebo,J Davies and vuinopolo have been good

You know you're grasping at straws to praise a player when you start using the above. Warburton has been average, tackled well but his carrying is non existent, he's not winning turnovers and I'm struggling to think of any reason to start him ahead of SOB or Tipuric

Backrow... Croft cementing his place imo, his work at the lineout has been rock solid. Warburton has been fairly poor imo. He isn't roaming the field looking to get to the ruck and disrupt, he's actually quite lazy off the ball. His first up tackling has been decent tho. Defo the 3rd choice 7 imo if he wasn't captain. Tipuric and SOB should be ahead of him.

You obviously dont rate Warburton or would rather O'Brien there I get that but you are at odds with a lot of other rugby watchers. Its not just about turnovers, the number of turnovers he creates by his tackling and isolating a player to allow the next one in to effect the turnover and also his strength in slowing the ball down when he is in the tackle area makes a huge difference. He may not look flashy but he is damn effective.
He has been the standout backrow for the Lions today

Can't get over people lying in wait to nail Heaslip. I spent the last 10 minutes watching him specifically. He is the second man into nearly every ruck. He has been everywhere. Has got his hands on the ball as many times as his flankers combined and linked play very well with passing.

One really bad mistake but his general play has been as good as anything this tour.
