The truth is that no members of staff in the retail stores have a clue how many they will actually get on launch day......

Just asked flubit for an offer, can get ps4 for £340 and it will be delivered between 25 sept and 4 oct. :)

    Think I'll get 2!

Got an email from Amazon about my PS4 order. I was hoping they'd finally gotten an update from Sony and had given me an estimated delivery date.....

It basically had no new info at all and just said they don't have an estimate, which they already told me when I ordered. Might aswell just have had this inside......

Hey lads thinking of pre-ordering a PS4! Just wondering where is the best place to do it?? Is there anywhere doing any special offers or bundles? As far as I know Gamestop are not! Thanks very much.

Any of the usual stores - none of them have announced any bundles yet.
They will closer to the release date, gamestop will also have bundles.

Do you think hey will contact customers or would we need to chase them up? I have pre order back 19th June and would like to think so

I'd say we'll get a text/call to go in and change to a bundle nearer to release date.

ya wasn't expecting it to be so soon.. as I only pre-ordered now.

I got the email about 2 hours after I ordered it.. Really hope I get it.

Due to my impending workload in my final year, I'm having second thoughts about getting this. I've already paid it up fully so it seems kind of a waste but I really can't justify spending any time on it, and it'll probably just sit in the box until next May!

You can guarantee there won't be a price drop by May so you are not exactly losing out - except on maybe a bundle, but the saving would be minimal.

Seriously? I ordered 5 weeks ago with Amazon and they still haven't given me an estimate.

If you go into your order history does it not say an estimated delivery date? something tells me its just putting everyone who orders in at that date. I preordered in June and have the same date as poster above 3rd/4th Dec

    http://earthsky.org/space/big-sun-diving-comet-ison-might-be-spectacular-in-2013

'Comet C/2012 S1 (ISON) has been the most talked-about comet of 2013. When discovered in late 2012, it was said to have the potential to become a striking object visible to the eye alone around the time of its perihelion – or closest point to the sun – on November 28, 2013'

Are our PS4's strapped to it?

    Nope, not for mine anyways.

"DELIVERY ESTIMATE: WE NEED A LITTLE MORE TIME TO PROVIDE YOU WITH A GOOD ESTIMATE. WE'LL NOTIFY YOU VIA E-MAIL AS SOON AS WE HAVE AN ESTIMATED DELIVERY DATE."

I would contact them.. tell them others that ordered after you are getting delivery dates and ask for one. You should get one at the same time as us.

Regarding Pre-orders: An interview CVG posted with Playstation UK's Fergal Gara today:

Do you believe PlayStation UK is facing a PS4 stock shortage problem?

Well, it depends on time frame. Within the first two to three months from launch, we will undoubtedly have ample volume to service any forecasts we have on sales. However, there may well be tight supplies at Christmas, I can see a bit of a pinch point around that time.

The metric that we use is the pre-order demand curve, and we've used our past five console launches as a reference point. Everyone who has put down a pre-order so far will definitely get one before Christmas, as long as nothing goes terribly wrong.

In August Sony put a deadline on day-one pre-order guarantees, but you're saying those beyond the deadline will still get it before Christmas?

Yes and if things keep going well we'll delight even more people on day one. We don't want to over-promise and under-deliver, we want to do the opposite.

And how about the first several months after Christmas?

Well based on what we know now, we will be in free supply at the start of the year.

Don't know what that means for Ireland but hopefully it's a similar situation. (Ordered mine day after E3 so hopefully grand)

Its €499 for the 2 Controller, Camera , Killzone bundle. That is unreal Savings. I'm going into Gamestop tomorrow to upgrade my pre-order to it.

I wonder if those of us who have preordered with Amaxon will be able to change to a bundle whilst keeping our spot in the queue

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 784 ✭✭✭Klair88

Also, for those who don't want an extra controller or the Camera, theres a €439 Killzone bundle with just the PS4 and game. Which is still good savings compared to buying separately

I have been onto Gamestop.ie twice and they were not getting nailed on what will happen! I ordered back Mid June so I fully expect to be able to upgrade my order!

Also, just to note. The Killzone game is a download code, not physical.

Nope they just confirmed on the ps blog the game is a physical copy.
What a deal have preordered with gamestop.ie hopefully they give us first choice on upgrading that €499 bundle is amazing value

Wonder will Gamestop offer the bundles to the first person on the list and work their way down till they have none left, seems logical that the first lot of people who ordered should have first refusal.

I doubt it - if you're on the "guaranteed" list everyone should have equal right to avail of a bundle.
If there are say 10 bundles, first 10 to upgrade should get it, regardless of position on "guarantee" list.

Either way its going to be a nightmare for the retailers. I will be on them like a nasty rash all the same :D
