Lads all this talk of xtra vision going tits up, they're not all going to fail so surely if u've got a console pre ordered in ur local store and it does happen to go wallop it will be honoured in another store. I've pre ordered a ps4 in the Athy outlet and not a bit bothered. the fella behind the counter even gave me a look at the books. :cool:

Had a Lovely 9 team accumulator win today of just over €550 so that is my PS4 paid for. I was putting money away each week for it, so Im over the moon.Can now pick up two games and another controller.

I'm getting a bit peeved by my Amazon preorder, turns out I'm paying £381.20 including 1-2 day delivery, estimated for delivery on the 29th/30th (hopefully the 29th, or else it'll be Monday).

That's €455. I was thinking of chancing my arm and lining up on launch evening. What do you think my chances are? I'm thinking slim-to-nothing

Zero. Stores are nearly on their third list now for pre-orders.

Nice of the Japanese to delay their launch to help out Europe and North America.

It's nothing to do with that. Sony know they have won in Japan seeing as the 360 is a flop in Japan. Sony want to put the boot in to MS in the US and EU, they will beat MS to the shops in the US while they are a week behind for the EU.

Plus Sony want more time to add extra features and content exclusive to the Japanese market that won't appeal else where.

Nah, better off getting on launch and selling at a profit. Need the money, 4 Days in Miami and 3 weeks in Colombia costs alot.

Its a pain how amazon have to add on the increased VAT means there's always a change to the price after you click buy. I was stung with it for ages not coping on that i was paying slightly more than i thought ha.

I've been reading here that people that pre-order most likely won't get them on the launch date.

I don't mind that.. but if i pre-order when can i expect it ? - Do they have secondary release dates ?

Will it be before Christmas ?

Well amazon have my delivery down as between 3/12 to 4/12 so i'd be happy enough if i get it then!!

Nobody knows mate, personally i think not a chance tbh, as soon as a new batch is ready after initial release it will go to north america and the after that europe can expect another batch. Thats what i think anyway

Try the likes of Smyths and Harvey Normans and even Xtravision. Few people on here were saying that Harvey Norman had fairly low pre-order numbers. Its impossible to know what the availabilty will be like but if you don't pre-order somewhere, chances are very slim you'll get one for Christmas.

I ordered ages ago in fairness (11th June) so i'd want to be getting it in or around release date ha. I'd try bricks and mortar shops you never know a lot of people might of preordered both consoles and mightnt end up going with PS4 for whatever reason - clearly they would be crazy

Gamestop in Limerick(William St) said today that GTA v had a March release on the PS4 It's in their system with pre-orders available form launch/

Awh kraP! The main reason I'm getting the PS4 was to get that game. I thought it would be out before Christmas. Any one know what kind of bundle or game i should get with the PS 4 on release date? I ordered with Harvey Norman but they haven't a clue what their at. Haven't a clue what I'm at either to be fair. The last console I owned was a PS1 but got caught up in the hype on this big time.

Depends what games your into really. Watch Dogs is probably the most anticipated of the launch day titles. Call of Duty and Battlefield should be fairly good if you're into shooters.

So I was in my local Gamestop last week to pay off the remaining balance of my PS4 console and asked what were my chances of getting it on launch. Was asked when I ordered it, she said no, definitely not, you won't get one day one. I asked are they working from some sort of list, and her answer was vague to say the least.

Then I was in there yesterday to put down a deposit on a blue dualshock 4 and was told by a different member of staff that I would definitely get one on launch day.

WTF

Think staff are just saying anything to customers...

I just hope I get mine before Xmas at the very least

2nd wk of july. gamestop said they were guaranteeing launch day consoles for pre orders up until 20th july instore. I won't hold my breath like, but hope I at least get one before Xmas.

You should ask the manager where you are on the list, its a pure balls getting told mixed messages like that. As he/she will have the best idea about your chances. There's nothing worse than being told that you are getting one at launch but then not actually receiving it upon release.
