Will have to pop down & have a look. The website has the usual price up

well worth getting, I got the vita at launch and love it. some great games and killzone next month looks very promising, add playstation plus and the upcoming ps4 remote play and you really cant go wrong for €149

Saying that if the rumours of a vita + ps4 bundle are true then you might be worth holding off until after the gamescom press conference

True that. Actually, if a Vita/PS4 bundle were announced, how would that affect the likes of an Amazon pre-order if you wanted to go ahead & get the bundle?

I cannot see a bundle aimed at launch Oct/Nov but I can see one for the Xmas market!

So then the dilemma is do u cancel your launch console and wait for the bundle launch?

I don't think I'd take the risk, if the Xtra Vision deal for the Vita is running in my local store...it's too good to pass up at that price. What would a rumoured PS4/Vita Bundle retail at anyway, €500 or so would be the absolute bottom line I think...

Good question, not sure how that would work. I cant even see how Sony will work it considering all pre orders are for ps4 console only. The only thing I can think of is if Sony were to give you the option to buy a vita at a disocunt at the time of purchasing the ps4 for say €499 for both ps4 and vita, if this was the case then you would just need to add the vita to your ps4 order on amazon and your price then would be re calculated. I really can't see them being bundled together in the same box for lauch, maybe at a later date though.

I've ordered in smyths too, doubt they're in danger. Don't forget, games is a tiny section of their shop. And they're close to a monopoly on kids toys in the country. Coming up to christmas, there's not a hope in hell.
I'd say gamestop is safe enough too. Wouldn't be counting on xtravision though. In all honesty, I thought they were gone years ago :pac:

TLDR; Richard, leave the staff alone :D

    If they go bust...no.
You will be one of many at the bottom of a list in who gets paid first.

If people are worried about losing money with pre-order, then why not just pay the minimum deposit? That way you reduce the amount you could lose. I have always given the minimum deposit, and saved the money myself separately.

Never had any issues, with paying things off on the day.

that makes total sense, do not understand giving any shop the full whack before actually having the product.

    Exactly!

Just save the money yourself in your bank account or something.

I was given a gift card in Smyths but there was no way I was putting money on it in case I'm not guaranteed one before Xmas or they go out of business (highly unlikely I know).

The closer it gets to launch the more people will be double checking orders, making sure holidays are booked, the driveway is clear for the delivery man...... :P

According to Gamestop Ireland's facebook page, they are still taking Launch day preorders for the XBONE. Says it all really! :D Also, Sony's E3 press conference is this evening, Gamestop to give regular updates on it. With any luck they might announce PS4 release date....

    PS4 TO LAUNCH NOVEMBER 29TH

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 117 ✭✭0llieJonCon

PS4 released on the 15th of November in US. 29th of November for Europe. Why such a gap???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,506 ✭✭✭✭Xenji

Well with the 29th of Nov being the launch date, if anyone is on a second list with a store or far down on a list, you will have no hope of getting it this year.

Better than the 4 month gap last time.

It is good in a way, you will get all the reviews of the games, two weeks early, and you could always add or cancel a pre-order if it turns out to be crap or good.

They need to get the PS4 out before Thanksgiving for the US.

BIG advantage for me....it gives me two weeks to decide if i'll buy a PS4!, as we'll see unboxings. reviews. hardware teardowns, OS explored, formware updates etc.

I have two weeks to decide if the X1 OS appeals more to me, yeah....i am basing my decision on OS, as right now Sony have *NO* tv or movie servies on the PS3!

With MS i can rent or buy movies and tv shows, from Ireland!....none of this region lock/not enough money in Ireland bs!

Its sickening that the UK have tv and movie services Ireland dosent!!!!!!!!!!
