Crew cab, 5 seats, 6 previous owners, cheap tax?

How does the tax work on that so?

could have only been converted by the last owner , before that id say a tax avoidance of the 1809 rate. Usually the amount of owners on anything with 1809 tax doesn't matter as we all know why.

There was/is a nice V8 Cayenne on donedeal at the minute from a dealer, was considering posting it here but didn’t know if it was worthy.

What do we reckon? Nice bit of flash for the cash, but are they worthy of the barge title?

When a vehicle is over 15 years old, the amount of owners is the last of your worries. Especially at that price point.

if thats that 03 one in that similar colour in the 4.5 I went to see that before, its rough.

Yep, think its the same one, with a Jap/square back plate?

Heres a nice 4.5 S slightly over budget, but original Irish with reasonable miles and not too many owners

Spotted this while browsing DD, thought it might be of interest to someone. Maybe it's been here before. I have no opinion and know nothing about the model....

    2006 BMW 630i €3950

"In excellent condition throughout. 150k miles with full service history. Drives like new. Huge spec including panoramic glass sunroof, parking sensors, heated seats and steering wheel, head up display, xenon headlamps, new tyres. Tested until 05-2020"

it is basically a mondeo so doubt theres any nightmares or really expensive fixes. I always had a liking to the x type . If you can get one loaded up with the auto box and the navigation it still looks well inside. Its not a barge but in terms of used exec cars id take one over an e60 520d. Theres also loads of clean ones for under 2k
It's on the mondeo platform anyway.

I test drove a 2.5 v6 with AWD and autobox a few years ago (I ended up buying a e61 535d) and it was a really silky smooth drive. Just not enough poke compared to the bimmer which was in fairness in a different league.

I was pretty sure that the diesel X type used the 2.0 duratec/duratorc engine from a mondeo. I had a few mark 4 fiestas and the key was pretty much the same as that X type (and an S type of the era I had for drifting)

Interesting. Pity about the short NCT, and seller can't get one either.

Looks like a Lancia Delta in the background as well, which is also interesting. (Not an Integrale)

Anyone looking at one of those, make sure the gearbox shifts perfectly, not any holding or missing gears at all. The gearboxes are rare and expensive for them and are the weak point.

It's actually not short. If it expires in May, that means it'll be extended by 4 months automatically as per lock down rules.

So it's NCT is due in September, not May.

What are the chances they'd then only renew it for 8 months when renewed in September?

Hahah .. on a CVRT, they are high.

NCT doesn't go by car registration. It goes by expiry date. You only get f***** when you let it go without NCT too long.

But then again .. one should not trust the system. They might want to get extra revenue to make up for the lost revenue during the lockdown.

Was debating whether this was more suited here or the bangernomics thread but a 3.0 litre petrol costing €1500 a year in tax probably doesn't quantity it as bangernomics.

Lexus GS300 with NCT until next April:

Could be decent enough luxury for 1k.

Or a newer model GS with shorter test asking 1750:

Yeah, the condition of the 02's interior caught my eye too even if the exterior is a bit rougher looking.

Speaking of such, have a look at the interior on this 15 year old IS200, looks almost brand new:

Well, he can't be accused of not preparing the car for sale, she's absolutely gleaming.. at least it was 82 days ago.

that must be the last is200 left that hasn't been converted to a border county mad lad drift machine. Very clean.

the faux leather Lexus used around that time has held up very well in those last few examples.

As far as I've always made out , the LS series (400, 430, 460, 600...) got real leather , the IS and GS got faux leather, but a particularly good pleather. The RX is a weird mixture and over time becomes noticeable in the beige particularly, with door cards and seat backs staying the same but the arse and thigh parts of the seat cracking and wearing terribly.

I dunno, I always thought it was different to the stuff you'd get in a BMW anyway.

Still though, a similar vintage 7 series wouldn't look nearly as good as this after 160k miles

This generation GS are absolute cock roaches. Refuse to die.

I had one for 7ish years, only thing that failed outside of wear and tear was the contactor ring in the starter motor. €20 fixed that.

It has the bullet proof 2JZ engine

Tax too high for bangernomics IMO so I thought I'd throw it in here..... A tad worn looking but its cheap...

such an odd one, the back right is definitely a different silver to the rest of it and that steering wheel is in a jock. Just about fits in this thread but given the other options id have last pages gs300 instead.

Tax has never been part of the criteria for Bangernomics?

He did emphasize it was in his own opinion.
