5 a side football match for unfit / overweight players

    Hi all


    I am trying to organise a 5 a side football match for unfit / overweight players that are interested in losing a bit of weight and getting in shape, getting off the cigarets or even people coming back from injuries.


    Looking for poor - average players.


    Herbert Park in Donnybrook / Ballsbridge is a handy location and is free. (on several bus routes or a short walk from the city with plenty of parking). If the Phoenix Park is convenient for people that is also an option


    Looking to start Saturday the 15th - 10am

    Good idea, too far away from me (I definitely fall into this category though), will be using 5-a-side as my motivation for the summer too, just on the northside.

    I shall keep an eye on this. Have been looking for somewhere to play a bit of ball. I haven't kicked a ball in years and am extremely unfit.....I also suck a football :)

    Unfortunately the location is a bit of a trek for me as the jam jar is of the road but I might be able to sort something out.

    What kinda ages are people?

    Just noticed the time....SAT 10AM....OUCH ;) Summer evenings are great :)

    Good to hear from ya.

    At the moment we are just starting to gather number. I don't know what age people are but I am sure there will be no world beaters on the team.

    You might as well try it out and see how you get on, especially in this cracking weather.

    Maybe a list could be made to get a rough idea of potential numbers.

    It may also help other sign up if they see a few other people are going.

    I havent heard from Steven in 2 weeks but you are right, we seem to be enough.

    Phoenix Park I would prefer also, but I will come once and see how it goes. I will not be able to make this Saturday though, but should be able to from then on. I will be coming from Blanchardstown/Castleknock, so willing to give anyone a drive that needs it.

    Just to update you all, 5 people sent me details so far so we are 6 with me.

    There is a few others who said they would but they haven't yet.

    I aim for 10 to people to start.

    To clarify some questions I was asked: I don't think age and gender are a problem (it is all about having fun).

    Hi, If this is in the pheonix park I would be up for it. I hate jogging it bores me to tears but I would run all day (if I could) playing football. Only exercise I enjoy.
