Don't know how/why she'd say this- they're selling them at considerably below wholesale- it would appear to be a faircut misprice.

The price is still the same but has anyone noticed any in stock in a while?

No. I check via the link at least once a day (still have my hopes of getting a R4- and kicking myself over choosing the R3).
Actually- quite a few locations are at 'Unknown Status'........
Its definitely worth while to keep checking........

Just checked- of the 145 Netgear products on Adverts, 4 of them are this model of router. So- yes, there are a couple, however its low single digits. If they still have their policy regarding ripping off Boards members- go ahead and report them- not sure if they still enforce this policy though?

They don't. I've reported few obvious, and they answer was they can only "inform potential buyer that seller bought it cheaper" (their own words)

Well, that's a mixed message right there. If you do that, the seller can report you for spoiling the ad and you'll soon get an email from Advert's mods saying that unless you're interested in buying the product, you shouldn't make any comments and continuing so can get you banned from the site.

I did try to warn potential buyers in a few ads that were grossly misrepresented and got a warning from the mods over there, it seems they don't care if some poor fecker is getting ripped off, as long as they are left alone.

is some "poor fecker" getting ripped off? Somebody bought one for €27 and trying to sell it for €90 and they might get €75 for it. sounds like entrepreneurialism to me. cheapest on Amazon still £80stg and original price was €130.
How is that being ripped off?

It's not entrepreneurship, it's ticket touting, but with routers instead of tickets.

Has anyone gotten any valid feedback as to why they're not enforcing this anymore. It used to be a way of keeping us all on the straight and narrow, if you found a bargain- you could pass it on. I've never had to deal with ticket touts- I don't get out much- but I think their behaviour, and indeed the behaviour of those souls selling on these routers at vast profits, are deplorable.

We had this policy in place for a reason- its raison d'etre hasn't changed- and especially in these cash straightened times, we should be looking out for one another.

Rip-off might be the wrong term, but when someone kindly shares a bargain here for the benefit of the actual users of the forum, and then others come on, who by the way, have never shared a thing in their life, and exploit that by taking advantage of the forum and buy up that stock, that they only knew about by seeing it on this forum - yes, there is something wrong with that.

Poor show by the adverts mods, I expected better. Its only encouraging people to buy popular bargain stuff to try to sell on adverts for a big profit, thus taking stock away from people who actually want it.

    Nothing wrong with it.
This is what your local shops do. Buy cheap sell high. So what.
If you don't want the router on Adverts don't buy it. Or join some communist country .

Personally . I would have held onto it a while before selling it so the argos deal disappeared into the cracks.

90 is high but its not a final price.

Its profiteering. It used be illegal in the retail trade- if you know your history.

Show me a single local shop with a 300% markup on a product? Margins in retail are typically 6-7%

You're missing the whole point. We're trying to help one another out here- and freeloaders are abusing our good nature to make a quick buck. Sod joining a communist country- showing a little consideration towards one another is what we're doing.

Perhaps not. However- when we've been hunting for them here @ 30 quid and generously sharing reservation codes, price gouging on adverts is not just galling, its immoral.

I don't understand why the mods there don't stamp down hard on this.

Unless you have proof (receipt etc) I would not assume that the individual(s) in question purchased the router at the reduced price on Argos.ie. Perhaps it was purchased at the previous price of €129.99 or from a different source completely. It may even have been a gift.
To all of you crying like little girls out there, YOU MISSED THE BOAT, get over it.

Well here's the rules about this on adverts
    For Sellers
Profiteering Attempting to sell an item above the Recommended Retail Price (RRP)
Adverts.ie is a community marketplace and does not encourage profiteering.
We will not however remove the listing and we leave it up to the buyer to decide on whether to make an offer or not.
Ticket sales is an exception. All ticket sales are at face value (plus booking fee and additional costs) or less. Adverts.ie moderators reserve the right to remove any ad that is deemed excessive.
    For Buyers
To make fair and genuine offers. Thread spoiling (random comments and unfair price comparison) is not allowed.

So it's not strictly against rules and really down to buyers to decide if they're okay with what they're paying for something

It's not really comparable to tickets in this case as product available elsewhere at different prices but does clash with spirit of bargain alerts.

    Really. Brand new, unopened?
Or a gift- who gives a router as a gift?
And also- if you look at the closed and withdrawn items on adverts- none of this particular model of router featured prior to the Argos deal.
Its 4 individuals acting the maggot- profiteering on the back of the good nature of the guys here.

If ya dont want it dont buy it.

How do you even know he got it in Argos?
You are making harmful assumptions about a person you know nothing about.

So I take it you're one of those "entrepreneurs" then? Should we expect some of those 13c Kickers bags for sale at a later time as well?

Managed to get a reservation so got my dad to buy the router while I was away for the month.
Got home, Shiny box, Looked at the outside label, V4 by the looks of it, Quite chuffed.
Go to open the box, See a bit of tape keeping the box sealed. Get suspicious
Open the box, Damn thing is used! :( Internal bag seals broken, Router is a bit dusty, Cables all unwound and shoved back in the box
    Not sure what to do...
