    This post has been deleted.
    It didn't.

I've two empty reservations and emails from Argos Direct E-Commerce Customer Service Team that confirm that. :(

While I was failing to get a successful reservation on Saturday i did notice the first time that they had a date for when it will be in stock in my local store.

I'm not sure I should tell anyone though. :pac:

    OP here.
Apologies to the many disappointed boards users.
I'd imagine they are all well and truly gone.

This was the stock level on the day I posted

    Collected this morning- many thanks.
The guy in Argos said they have two very different Netgear WNDR3700's releases 02R4 (in a grey box assembled in Vietnam) and 01R7 in a red box assembled in China. Both had the same barcode- 6-06449-06134-5. He gave me choice of them- I choose the R4. All 7 instore apparently are on reservation since Saturday ( no doubt some of us here!). I'm guessing any reservations that aren't collected today will start popping back into stock again tonight- so its worth while keeping an eye out via the link in post 1 in this thread.

Ok- the two that Argos are selling (with identical product codes) are:

N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (WNDR3700v3)
    and
N600 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Router (WNDR3700v4)

The v3 is made in Vietnam, the v4 is made in China.
The v3 is a grey and red box, the v4 is a white and red box.

    Both have the same barcode.

Whats the difference between a V3 Version and a V4 Version? Is there better hardware in the V4?

V4 has more ram and more flash space. Better if you are planning on using something like ddwrt.

Different- next generation, faster processor too- as per this link: http://www.legitreviews.com/article/2166/1/

In short- don't bother with a V2 or a V3- they are far slower, less powerful and altogether not worth getting (mind you at less than 30 quid for a wireless N router- they're good value- just not nearly as good as a V4)

For what it's worth - this isn't an auction site..

.. promises of monetary gifts (or otherwise) is not exactly fair on those before you.

You can use DD WRT on either but more ram is always more better

So according to that if i see China it will be 100% V4 if not i can ask about what i paid for - i will be collected mine on wednesday - I ordered 2 one for me another one for my gf's sister.
    Any source for that?

Can anyone uplad photos of v3 and v4 boxes - it should say on the box what is inside and which rev.

I was looking at the stock checker and 1 was in stock in the Cork Blackpool branch so I reserved it for any boardie that wants it. It is valid until the end of Wed 05th.
1st PM gets it. It might be a couple of hours before I respond.
