That's no excuse dude, if you were taking off you could have stopped or avoided that. And driving off makes no difference.

i couldnt really just stop plant in the middle of the road to block traffic just to take a watergun off someone who would have still fired at him while stopped, if anything stopping the car wouldve gave him more time to shoot him rather than just driving off, and i cant wrestle a guy to take something off him while driving incase of an accident.

and even then if i did get it off him the car is a small place where he'll just get it again anyway... so no i cant do a lot there.
No he shouldn't have, never said it was acceptable either. The proper thing to do is explain it to him rather than assault him FFS. And making up a claim for no damage wont work either.

I'm not getting on a high horse here or wish to appear that way. My point is simple - soaking some old fella cowardly, childish carry on. Coming on here giving out about it I can understand but boasting about getting revenge on him is pathetic. And before you say you weren't KS&L that's the way the post reads. Interweb hardman:rolleyes:

i didnt condone the carryon in anyway and i didnt do it, i just couldnt prevent it at the time. like i say he didnt do damage , it only kinda annoyed me but i was leaving it as was and not doing anything about it, i dont see why i should be responsible for another adults actions like that if i cant prevent it.

now i have since moved said waterguns into my house away from the car.

Fair enough he nudged your car but soaking the guy like that is beyond retarded.

Ah come off it, the guy hit Kopparbergs car, simple as, he made no intention of apologising or anything, can't say I'd have used a water gun on him but because he walked off I'd have lodged a claim against him.

I'm sure the driver was happier to be hit with a water gun than a claim against his insurance possibly costing him hundreds if not thousands btw....;)

never said make up a claim, he was hit!

to me, you don't attack a mans car. That is just it. If you do then all bets are off. He was open for a "soaking" (weird sentence) or whatever means necessary. Because he didnt do the right thing and get out + leave insurance and contact details.

so if somone accidently touches the front of your car whilst parking and causing no damage the 2 solutions from this forum is

    1) water pistols? bit odd adults having these in the first place?
    2) insurance claims straight away? -sums up alot on here

Id have actually got out my car, inspected the damage and said to the guy to be more careful in the future. If there was any damage, i then would have taken his details

    problem solved amicably and maturely

Lodge a claim for what exactly? The craic? There was no damage and the fact the alarm went off implies the car was unoccupied.

Whatever means necessary? If you had a baseball bat handy in the car do you use that instead? There was no damage. Even if there was the course of action begins the same way - mention it to him and go from there.

which is exactly what i did. no damage so i left it..... another person took it into their hands to go further with it not me thanks very much.

damage behind the bumper, which i checked for but there happened to be none
    Just like any mature adult:)

which again is what i did myself, inspected car, no damage so i got in and drove away without doing anything.

Thinking of getting these or similar headlights, thoughts?

    http://www.ebay.ie/itm/VAUXHALL-ASTRA-G-MK4-98-04-GSI-BLACK-HEADLIGHTS-PAIR-/320584811701?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4aa45804b5

One thing is though, they aint originals, which is what I'm trying to avoid, and they don't come with a few bits and bobs

So any other suggestions fire em this way!

Jayzus roll on half five this heat has me killed :(

Sooo I'm still running Winter tyres because I didn't need to do much driving after college ended and I didn't really have the cash to change them and I'm kind of half expecting them to melt in this heat! They still seem to stick to the roads pretty well but I guess they are wearing an awful lot faster than summers would. It's a decent set too, almost matched 4x Pirelli Sottozero that I got partworn. I might be selling the car in a few weeks anyway so no point in changing now.

Frankly I am not looking forward to sitting in the car to drive home. The (black) leather interior has been in the sunny carpark since 7.30am odd.

Some ridiculous heat outside today, luckily it's keeping me in the job :pac:

Saw some really nice cars today, namely a Porsche Cayenne GTS, 87/9 Jag XJS V12 Convertible and a mint B7 RS4.

Any time I hear XJS I think of James May on top gear pointing at what can go wrong.

If anyone knows it its hilarious

I'm off to do the Camino De Santiago in the morning. I'll be very fit after 3 weeks if walking in blazing heat! Have fun and keep safe everyone.

Best of luck with it, neighbours are doing it at the moment and herselfs parents are going in the autumn. Bit of an undertaking.

I'm going into it with my eyes closed. I've cut the weight if my backpack down to 3kgs. If my other half wasn't going I'm confident enough I could shed another kg at least. I've been doing a bit of prep but nothing crazy. I'm just hoping for a bit of an adventure. I picked my camino passport up in Dublin today.
