Got the tyres done on the car today, only needed to replace one, thought I'd a slow puncture in another but it turns out the rim needed to be sealed.

@ Scortho some more pics :)

I think you have the nicest car of the lot.
Is there a front badge on her? If not or if its faded, replacing the one on the front makes a major difference.
I thought 166man was mad when he said this until I saw it in the flesh.

Hey lads I'm going to test a few cars this weekend with my Grande Punto being used as a trade (going for a larger, more of a cruiser like upgrade).

Now, I have brand new suspension springs in the box to be changed for the front of the car and a manual window kit to fix the rear driver window because it doesn't wind up because the wire / pulley is caught up or bent.

Should I tell the dealer about these two parts that need to be changed and that I will give the parts? Surely that makes his job easier and shows I'm taking care of the car doesn't it? Obviously my concern is trying to get as much €€€ for my car.

    Opinions welcome :)

I'd say NOWT and sell the parts yourself

Remove any obvious mods and sell 'em

No mods at all other that OEM stuff (new red Fiat badges for example). The springs and window cable kit only cost me €50 combined - just on the fence if honesty is the best policy because I've done all other required work and fixes since I got it.

If he doesn't ask, don't tell him ;)

He's going to give you as little as he can for your Punto. Make sure you get as much as you can by not telling him anything off your own back.

any issues with NCT and painting brake lines with hammerite? - mine are sound but wouldn't mind an extra layer of protection on them

Might make them more prone to double check?

yeah might just do the metal bits on the hoses - they tend to rust eventually - and although on surface rust they nitpick at them

Guys, looking for a bit of advice here on selling the citroen.

About to send it in to my mechanic for a service and to fix the motor on a rear window.

Aside from that it's no issues, drives fine, has been regularly serviced in the four years we have had it, the bodywork is not perfect has a few scratches on it. Internally it's clean, we replaced the radio with a lidl one and have an aftermarket surround.

    It's an 03 1.8 model.

Assuming the mechanic doesn't find anything disasterously wrong with it, how would you price it? It's at 135k mileage last tb change at 75k

How quick do you want it sold?

Also would you not keep it for muckin about with the sailing stuff and for commuting and keep the gtv for pleasure as a summer car?
It'd make running the gtv really cheap.
And something fun to look forward too?

Not in any major hurry to be honest, have the space to store it, and want to be sure it's sound before selling, nct is out in Jan, am willing to wait to retest in Nov. before selling if that gives you an idea? Would be much easier to sell with a 15 month NCT.

Am confused on price, they seem very expensive on donedeal compared to what we were thinking of advertising it for. OH thought 5-700euro would be a decent price, I'd put it at 1250?

I'd put it up 200 cheaper than the next one. See where it goes from their.
Is that the one you had fun with the radio?
If so no wonder you want 1250.

Flew to Scotland yesterday to get married and got a free rental car upgrade from a Kia Piccanto to an A5 auto. Quite nice for speeding through the hills...

I was in Mondello yesterday at a trackday, just went to spectate but a buddy offered a drive in his car so I signed on and drove it for a bit. The rain came really heavy then so we weren't going to risk his car (Integra DC5) so we went out for a few laps in the bangernomics Accord, some boat on a track and some laugh, we were way slower than everybody else but mostly due to the amount of laughing we were doing

Arriving at a friends apartment block, was told they could hear me from some distance before they could see me. I would have been half a mile down the road at the time..... Oops :o

Was down in Conzys one weekend, took each others cars for a spin. Apparently Conzys 325 could be heard a good 5 minutes before I arrived back with it.

Speaking of loud E46's, the other day in slane was this 330d with some sort of exhaust system..... It sounded bloody awful, sounded more like a speedboat rather than a car!

As for my car, I parked it in an underground car park, the way it idles is comical.... This echoed throughout the car park, just idling. Then stopped and all silent.... I never realised how loud it is!

I think hers needs nowhere near as many parts as yours. :D

Stheno's is a daily driver after all while yours is like an ornament in the driveway at this stage!:D

Yeah exactly, mine are mostly cosmetic parts, new wing mirror as mine is shabby and a previous owner glued it so it wouldn't fold, new grill and badge, new internal mirror as mine has spots on it, and a bolt for the bonnet as the current one is cracked, and a replacement aerial as mine does not work and is stuck up all the time.
They have two gtvs they are breaking anyway :D
