Was sufficiency 4, although I completely lost perspective in the exam and just started rambling, one of my old bad habits! Not long til it's all over now, cannot wait!!

Ya im Same i had only done about 2 days at That stage So was pleased with it. I'm going on hols to Puerto Rico for 2 weeks the day after we finish !! Can't wait

Anyone done Pharma Inc? (2010 mock) in the solution debtors days for march 2010 how are they getting 65 days?

There is a lack of good cases for this subject, I'm beginning to think there are only so many things that can actually be asked

Well basically ur defo getting asked

NPV
Pest ( from some angle)
Financing expansion
Mkt entry

Then the other options are like:

Sem or balanced scorecard
Marketing ( logistics / pricing )
Org structure/treasury funct
Transfer pricing.

It's the angles they ask them at that makes them difficult and the amount of information they need . Have you done the 2011 paper. Worth doing I think exit strategies and sem on it.

The thing I'm dreading is impact of financing on KPI s !! Can't do them

I think I might leave the 2011 paper until tomorrow night! The 2010 gave me enough excitement for one night!

What section of the competency statement is it?

It says 5.1 operating across boarder. How cost competitiveness can be achieved. It's about reducing supply chain really but I'm not sure where it would come under in the book.

Supposedly covered in chapter 1 which is rubbish... the slides from sessions 7 & 8 with Eoin McGettigan do go into a bit more detail though. I had issues with that indicator, would've been a definite NC for me

Crap I did nt really go through his slides - are they worth going through . I taught they were just the stuff in book. I watched half online and found it a struggle. Might try watch it ;(

I m really not coming near the level of detail in the solutions ;(

Naw I hadn't went through them either tbh it was just when you asked there now lol! they're not powerful but they're okay, they'd maybe be alright for an idea or two if it came up

Yea chapter 1. To be honest I'm only getting through about a case a day because I'm doing core! Planning out the case attempting an answer reading the solution and then reading the book! Trying to practise NPV calcs too as well as using the cap2 sfma toolkit for forwards and valuation calculations etc. also looking at a couple of mabf ppq

I just went through chapter 1 but it so would not help me answer that question. Wish the book and comp statement were more aligned !!

thank goodness... I've avoided the other FAE threat cos people are freaking me out lol.

Only getting through a couple of cases a day, how are you finding it now? I'm thinking of only practising the mock and actual past papers form now on, the self study ones just stress me which does not help at all lol

Thinking of paying my sister to pull together a profile of countries like language currency government corruption etc ha ha !! Started it but feel like I'm wasting too much time ;(

lol!! I wouldn't bother, sure if they give us country profiles in the green book they couldn't expect us to update it for them? Although in saying that it is the institute!!

same, same for core as well, one case can lift my spirits and the next just brings me down with a bang. just think, the answers they give us are for HC, they still have to be realistic in what we can be expected to know having worked in industry/practice for only a couple of years. couple of years ago doing a set of accounts was just something I read about after all lol

Couldn't agree more some people are going over board and really freaking out on that thread!!

How you getting on with CORE? I feel like I've really neglected APM, I've done most of the practice questions but not any of the past papers! Going to lash into them this weekend

No I try to time myself, but I'm not doing full answers like report style or anything, which I really should lol I'll maybe make that my focus next week

Core is such a hit and miss MoMo, I tried some management accounting cases this morning from the case book, which did not go well at all. Did last years sims paper though and it seemed to be okay. There's just no way of knowing, every case is so different!!

I know the feeling it is literally hit and miss - no cases are the same and it basically comes down to what appears on the day!

You could do feck all study and hit it on the day by using your basic business knowledge or else you could study all year and completely mess up the paper!

I am think about doing some Cap2 papers for management/finance they will hopefully help with APM also.

What are the best questions to proactive NPVs? I did pretty well with the one in the mocks so hopefully can build on that
