Tonnes of fly downstream from athlone on the Shannon this evening.
Loads of spent and a good hatch came on around 9:30.
Trout taking them freely off the top.
I didn't have any fly gear with me I was catching roach.

Back from sheelin with severe sunburn and no fish. Steady mayfly hatch all day.. fish no interest. Far too bright...
