Hope not. Twice on the same hole he's blown a driver deliberaty into the crowd to stop the ball. First time he messed his chip into the water, this time he somehow managed to hit it into the grandstand. While he had little chance at shouting for the last one, the drives are a terrible way to get an advantage. I know he didn't shout fore at least once.

Although I'd probably hate all golfers basing it on that too.

Its a pretty stupid place to put the grand stand though and they could make sure the people are further back as well. The golfers have no miss fairway, water or crowd. Or the green of course but I didnt see anyone on in one over the weekend though

May be true but others have managed not to use the crowd as a buffer. Iron to fairway, still easy to play in (Leishmann v Watson, despite the result). It should be penalised, teach these lads some manners for not respecting the crowd

Not to stick up for the players because its a joke at least not shouting fore when the ball is headed into/toward the crowd. It is easier to get at all pin position from where they were driving it.

You could make it ob but that takes away a lot from the hole as everyone ends up taking an Iron then. IMO on that hole just move the people out of the way of where the golfers want to miss if they do miss

There must be a way that punishes a player that hits the crowd and doesn’t shout fore more than one who does. Rory always warns the galleries but that can be to his cost as they can scatter and his ball can end up in a much worse place as a result.
There is a referee with every group. If a player hits a gallery behind the ropes then they can decide on the issue. Yesterday Smith hit the girl and his ball bounced back into the middle of the fairway. That ball was initially heading for real trouble.
Maybe there should be two drop zones that must be used when a ball hits the crowd. The zone for those that give a warning could be less awkward than for those who don’t.

Yeah would agree with that tbh, what the organisers want to do with the hole doesn't match up with how it's designed (you mentioned the grandstand, that position gives a way out too)

Assign a volunteer "FORE-caller" to each group or put one on each tee box. Should the ball be heading towards the gallery, the designated fore-caller just calls fore. As they are provided by the tournament/tour as an interest of public safety, the players can say **** all

Serious start to the Noren/Kisner match. Kisner one up through four and has halved the last two with birdies.

Bubba looks really up for it in the other match, he is two up.

Edit to add that Noren and Kisner just halved the fifth with birdies. Incredible golf.

Four halves in a row with birdies for Noren and Kisner.

While there is clearly some blatant lack of calling it is rare you don’t hear one of the group, a Marshall or someone call fore, even the arm out signals to Marshall’s on the hole that it’s headed their way.

Obviously the player should just let out a roar, mo reason not to.

That hole in question that was a player in almost every group that just aimed straight at the stand and very few called. Stupid place for a stand. Bubba was far from alone.

I know there is only 2 matches going on. But Jesus the amount of ad breaks is ridiculous. 1 every 5 or 10 mins

    Penalise them all I'd say

Thomas won't be making a late comeback if he's hitting 3 woods into bunkers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,776 ✭✭✭✭eagle eye

Noren and Kisner are both -6 through 14 holes.

Kisner beats Noren on the 19th. Horrendous first putt by Noren really cost him

So what happens when a FORE is shouted in the middle of one of these entitled shobgites backswing? Especially those with the extra sensitive hearing.

It was actually one of the worst putts I've seen in a while by a tour pro.

His putting had been poor well before that. He had two very good and one reasonable chance to win several of the previous five holes.

But his putt on the 18th was worthy of a 26 handicap.

Well I'd hope that one of the Foreshouters would know to wait until after the player had hit

Haven't watched much / any of this, nice looking place.

    Jaysus Noren's pre - Sh*t routine.

I know what he is doing - and could do with it myslef - but.

Nice landscape - nice to be out of that flat drab sort of Florida look.

Bubba is going to hockey Kisner. Bubba will go into favoritism for the Masters then

2 class shots at par 4.

There is no chance Bubba will be favourite for the Masters after a win. I couldn't see it myself anyway.

He is 16/1, playing as good as anyone in world at minute and has won at Augusta twice. I wouldn’t back against him.
