If people are free to choose where they work then why are they working there? Does that mean it's better than the other alternatives they have?

Also, having read that article it seems that the contracts are bound by Irish law, not Norwegian law and their wage seems to be above the Irish minimum wage. Not allowing them to join unions seems dodgy but I have sympathy for any employer who sees their employees stop working but can't sack them.

    how so?

Because with Ryanair you get charged for optional extras. The example in the pub isn't valid because in order to drink a drink you need a glass, it's not an optional extra.

If Ryanair started charging you a "window fee" where you had to pay if there's windows on your plane, then it may be a reasonable comparison.

Look, the example is just an allegory.

No harm either. They are like a dormant virus once they get into an organisation.

That really depends on what organisation you are in

I wonder why Ryanair isn't flying in to France anymore?

Could this have something to do with it?

    Sorry but what?

I can book a flight today from Dublin to around 30 French Destinations. What are you waffling about.

He meant they closed their base in France and no longer have any pilots/cabin crew based in the country because the French g'ment said enough is enough re: tax etc

The court case, another good example of Ryanairs goodwill.
And they have stopped flying to some places in France after that for some reason.
    And waffling,no,just discussing.

Because Ryanair is an incredible example of the power of the free market. Plenty of Irish people love begrudgery and have a boner for socialism. Perfect recipe for anti-Ryanair threads.

Power of the free market, you sound like Ryanair is the only low cost airline in Europe:rolleyes:
And having a boner for socialism isn't that bad,at least Ireland wouldnt be what it is today,if they where.

That's bad. I don't know how they find workers with those conditions. What makes it worse in this situation is that Nordic countries generally have better working conditions than the rest of Europe.
