Didn't hear the show yesterday but first question is this? why don't ambulance crew carry life jackets in the ambulance, just in case...?

Common sense should have prevailed and they should have been let treat the man in the marina. Bloody jobsworths. If a paramedic is willing to board a vessel without a flotation device, that's their choice and they should be let go about their business.

If the delay in treating the man caused by these muppets had a bearing on his recovery or health, those fcukwits should be prosecuted for endangering life.

Serious question, does a normal insurance not cover all passengers in a private vechicle, whether ill or not?

I don't see why not. Most motor insurance policies cover you for social, domestic and pleasure usage of your car - getting someone to hospital (a fairly normal occurance, to be honest) would probably be covered under domestic. (Or come to think of it, social - what's more social than helping a fellow human being?)
