We weren't even consulted on the use of a new thread Joe, it's been foisted upon us and not a sniff of inconvenience money.

Anyone pick up on the BAI's new code of practice on fairness in broadcasting?

The new code precludes presenters from expressing personal opinions, and includes a series of specific rules that govern fairness, objectivity and impartiality in current affairs and news broadcasting.

Luckily for the unFunny Friday Crew, the BAI abandoned proposals contained in a draft code that would have seen broadcasters maintain a public register of interests, in which editors would have to make public their professional and financial interests.

The new code comes into effect on July 1st next.

How long do we think Joe can keep his opinions to himself? I expect a date with the BAI by July 4th......

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,833 ✭✭✭✭ThisRegard

Yeah, it was mentioned with regards to Duffy when the idea was first brought up. Joe is going to find himself in trouble with the impartiality bit of the code every day the way he currently goes on.

I'm loving this quote from the BAI chairman, we need to have Bob Collins on speed dial
but what this simply means is they can’t turn their programme into a vehicle to advance their own particular hobby-horses.

He must be Joe Duffy show listener.

Yeah all they're losing is their jobs with no notice, cheek of him to complain!

From my understanding they were told in January, Ive lost jobs in the past with pretty much no notice. I didn't ring Joe about it.

All we're missing here are model trains whizzing between the floors. The way this guy is going on if you were just tuning in you'd think they're knocking the building down.

Nobody has explained why a tiny museum like this requires 28 tour guides.

Liveline and Irish media in general is full of well off public sector moaners complaining about increments deferred he's lost his job and well within his rights to highlight the situation in hopes that ESB will change their mind, they are rich organisation with huge profits.

This is going to go on until Joe interviews everyone in the world who had a passing interest in these houses isn't it ?

If this mewzeem was anywhere else outside dublin it wouldnt be getting this much coverage.

2 days of this sh1te is a bit much.

I was in a musuem in Constanta in Romania once. As you went from room to room there was a woman in each room who switched on the lights and once you left she switched them off again....I am not sure if it was run by the ESB:eek:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,833 ✭✭✭✭ThisRegard

Jaysus Joe, it has been long established what happened to the houses, it didn't just happen in the middle of the night over a bank holiday weekend.
