Why doesnt she just have a set of flash cards, which she can use for various situations. Like "No" and "I am sorry I can't speak, please wait a moment while I go get my daughter"

That said, I have an elderly relative and getting her to do things like that can be very difficult. They don't like change at all.

You mean the streets weren't paved with gold outside of Ireland ? The Duffy shows leads us to believe that to be the case, imagine that.

"Things were more expensive than I thought they'd be"...a bit of homework might have been nice.
Although, to be fair, getting shafted on his wages wasn't his fault.

He left the house at 6am and did 2 jobs before he got into 'work' at 8am! What sort of jobs?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 750 ✭✭✭Tisserand

He only gave it three months, he gave up very easily

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 18,966 ✭✭✭✭syklops

Did he say he only gave it 6 weeks?

Edit: Ok, 3 months, still a bit too short.

Try moving to a non-english speaking country.

    What's his point?

Is he looking for someone to blame?

I was in Australia for 10mths and came back - you can do all the research you like but you have to live in a place to really work out the logistics. When I lived there it was incredibly expensive, rent, food, hobbies. I couldn't get back quick enough.

feel sorry for this guys family with this idiot of a Father

it takes 2 years to settle into a new place (not 2 weeks) ...and I speak from experience...why did these fools not make a decent go of it

I think his point is that Australia isn't the be-all and end-all, and he found out the hard way.
