I'm with ya. I'm not sure our monthly medal is going ahead, I'm not down to play due to boards outing but I might check in the morning.

I got my fix in today, like playing hopscotch down the fairways:eek:

Just got a text message from Luttrellstown Castle to say the course there is open today. Impressive as didn't think much parkland couses in the east would be open today Probably not much fun up to your ankles in gutter and it still misting

Believe it or not blessington lakes opened at 12:30 today and are having a qualifying comp.

Balls plugging everywhere and mud balls on every shot.

What Plonker decided to make that a qualifier.

Is it not very damaging to open on ground like that?

Seen links on east flooded in parts, very unusual.

I'm sure the place is going to be destroyed. I have a friend up there playing and he sent me a picture of his ball and it looked like a malteser.

I can't understand it at all.

My home course has its first qualifying comp of the year and course is open. I was up there but it's baltic!

Rain and flooding is so bad, I can't even chip or pitch out my back. We pray for your safe return Mr. Blue sky.

Played Killeen castle today greens and fairways great considering weather, bit of muck on the ball here and there but didnt plug once, bit cold but soup and bacon sambo after the ninth helped.

Local course was open today but it was very wet in places .
I also noticed that there were a few guys out in buggies making complete ****e of the place .
Should be no buggies allowed from Nov-March unless the ground is firm.

Just back from Moate, was in great nick, pleasantly surprised, Barton Cup match just behind us.

    No respect for the course.

Just got a text to saw that our place will be open for medal tomorrow if no more rain. Either way is going to be baltic and wet. Might even be froozen early on as RTE weather just said will be well below freezing tonight.

Played Blessington Lakes today and the course was in very good nick. It had dried out really well, as it always does. Whoever made the call yesterday got it wrong but there were no problems there today.
The cold was another matter. There were rumours of penguins making an appearance.

Things just go from bad to worse with snow now on the ground. Not looking great for golf over the long weekend with clubs having no chance to dry out from last weekend.

Head up Dr C, that should be the last of the rainfall/snow (precipitation if you want to get all fancy about it :)) for the weekend! (We might get a little bit of downfall this evening but nothing much)

I think I've moved to the next level of golfing obsession, that being a combined obsession with the weather forecast.

I've got the Father Jack-eqse hairy hands to prove it

Ireland throw away 2 points last night followed by snow and no golf the next few days. Property tax letter in the door this morning after the tv licence yesterday.

Went to heat the baby's bottle there earlier and the microwave isn't working.

My car battery isn't taking a charge and the car won't start to go out and get the shopping.

I'm in work on nights tonight what's the chances I get a belt of a bus on my way in running?

    Must do the lotto actually.

Some friendly advice: Pay your TV licence by DD, it costs the exact same excelt split out by the number of months in the year so makes no sense to pay it up front!

As for the weather, i am hoping to get out this evening after work, have brought two pairs of everything though so will prob look like the Michelen man swinging the club! Been quite dry in Cork for last couple of days so courses should have drained by now but not muich drying there(as the mother would say):D

Just lining up the layers for tomorrow. Hope to God the sunny south east lives up to it's name!! It'd skin a donkey's balls out there at the minute

I played 11 Holes today in the snow, wasn't sticking though. Was lovely out once the snow stopped pelting down. 1st game in a few weeks, when a window of opportunity opens it has to be taken, when you have babbies!! Loved it!

One of the best in the country. Very dry, wet at 3 only problem. Greens very good (Hard to get speed sometimes). Lad told us to play green tees in winter. Up to you, but they made it more enjoyable for mid to high handicap players.
Plenty of room on big holes for big stick. Tight at 2, 3, 4 (Great holes). But after that a joy to play. Very few weak holes 12, 15 maybe, great finish ,fantastic par 3s.

If you can get into locker room and the bar, golf porn on walls. The pros burned the place up. You can see why , big fairways and always a way back when bad left or right.

It was a big idea, hard to see a resort course like that being built for a long time.

The practice facilities are world class, amazing place. Great food. Will be back every year.

I am also playing there in two weeks time for the Social Media Open:

    http://www.facebook.com/SocialMediaOpen

So kind of doing a reconnaisance trip next Monday, think we'll play off the greens on Monday but the comp is off the whites!! Really looking forward to that now, I like the big American style courses especially the way I drive the ball:D

    Great day for golf.

    nice day to play though!

forecasting cloud for tonight and low temp of 3c over night, so hopping for no frost and teeing off at 8.50

Weather totally weird, the easterly winds with the well below seasonal average temps are just not going away.

Organised golf this evening with my Dad. Went to the range yesterday and spent about 45 minutes putting last night. All ready for a stab at my handicap this evening and it's absolutely howling out there. What a joke.

I have a lesson booked for tonight...might be a complete waste of time :(

Was out yesterday. Was funny the wind (19 M/sec), as was a nice day. The ball just about staying on green.

The good news - after winds today, we have broke the back of it. I know from looking at the birds and trees. ;)

I'll take the wind any day over the rain, snow, ice, frost, at least you can get out and play. Played into the jaws of a gale on Sunday and while tough going at times it was still very enjoyable. The one bonus with the wind is it will help dry out a lot of courses.

That site gives a picture - is accurate the closer you get . So not bad for today.

pistolpete has better ones, but you need to be the Brain of Britain for his. Sadly, for me, I like little pictures with clouds or sun.
