Today is windy with only light showers. Provided no heavy rain it should be ok

I can't remember the last time I played on a still day

Brutal here at times, you get windows of an hour or two where it's just very windy but then you get the rain along with it coming in and potential to be destroyed in 5 minutes, Sunday looks the best weather at the minute.

From the Weather forum on boards.ie...

SATURDAY ... Variable cloud, frequent showers, some with hail and thunder, breezy or windy (WSW-WNW 40-70 km/hr), cool ... lows 4-6 C and highs about 12-14 C. Rainfalls 5-15 mm.

Guess which day I'm supposed to be playing??!!

Someone mentioned on Twitter today that there was snow somewhere in Antrim today. Roll on summer eh?

same here, was in Dublin from Sunday to Wednesday enjoying the fantastic weather and then to come home to wind & rain, it was like flying home from spain for a bit!!! Had planned golf friday & saturday morning but think a soaking tomorrow will be enough!!

    Time to "man" up !

We all have the gear to play in such conditions, played today in occasional driving wind & rain.... Wet gear & umbrella kept me dry..... Lol

Today will stay mainly dry with good spells of sunshine, unbroken sunshine in places. It will be warm with highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees.

It's a beautiful day out the window here...and then you step out into it and get blown away (down in Cork anyway)

Is it my imagination or is this year more windy than usual. Can't remember the last time I played golf on a still day. There was one a few Sundays ago but of course I couldn't play :(

Played carton house today, sun splitting the stones. If we had 2 months of this every summer, Ireland would be the best place to live in the world!!!

Granted the courses around the country needed some precipitation but that's enough now for at least a couple of weeks so these torrential downpours better go elsewhere and let us get back to playing the game in sunny dry conditions.

How are places holding up so far.

Very little rain in Kildare. Seems to have hit coastal areas.
