So today is Steak and Blow job day.

Is it something silly, a bit of fun you can choose to take part in.
Or is it sexist and wrong to promote it?

What do you ladies think?

I think it's fun and there shouldn't be any pressure, any bloke who 'demands' either would be told not a hope. But what is wrong with a bit of a saucey day?

For me, March 14th is all about the Pi.

Steak is great. Sex is great. All in all, a wonderful invention of a day. I don't see anything sexist in it whatsoever, it's all a bit of fun.

Nah, Valentines is about romance, today is about sex. There's no equivalent sex day for us ladies, mores the pity! Although in a lesbian relationship I don't know who would be the one getting 'treated'

The aim of S&B day has always been to be like a man's version of V-Day. Working off the stereotypes that girls want romance and men sex!

Pity we don't celebrate V-day in my relationship though! I didn't demand romance (I hate it!!!) therefore he can't demand sex! :-D

I treat it as a bit of fun, don't think it's sexist. It's probably only fair given the fuss that can be made about valentines day!

Totally just a bit of a laugh I'd think. A tongue-in-cheek (ooh, vicar! :pac:) response to Valentine's.
Something not to take seriously from either angle (ok, I'll stop now! ) - as in, it shouldn't become an event that people feel obliged to abide by (which is what Valentine's can be) nor something to be offended by. I doubt either, especially the first one, was the original intention.

Although I saw a bit of a backlash on Twitter re Her.ie's item today on the perfect lip products for embracing the day - probably just meant humorously, but seeing as it's a publication lacking in humour... or any personality really, it doesn't sit right IMO. Has a Malibu Stacy "Don't ask me, I'm just a girl! Aheeheeheehee!" feel to it. At least the website's male counterpart Joe.ie can be funny and irreverent and somewhat witty (even though I know lots of lads hate it for its cliched laddishness).

I kind of feel sorry for men when I hear "steak and blowjob" day, it's selling themselves a bit short isn't it? Kind of going along with the whole idea the only thing men care about is their stomachs and their willies. Like if women created a new day for ourselves I'd be a bit miffed if it's "shoes and shopping day!!!".

But I guess if it's a joke and men aren't really bothered by it, then it's fine.
