Pancake Tuesday?

Do you bother with it? Is it an excuse to eat pancakes and more of a cultural tradition then a religions one; like Fat Tuesday? Or another christian tradition you've no time for?

I remember being told it came from the using up of the last of the ingredients before lent. Not sure if that's it or not

yeah but that would be christian thing not agricultural/time of year thing,
i guess the end of lent is easter...
