Pound for pound the most powerful big cat, living in the shadow of their cousins the Lion, tiger and cheetah.

Their tree climbing ability is second to no other big cat. Possibly my favourite animal. Amazing creatures, the apex predator of South America.

I am curious how they would get on in a fight against the mighty silverback gorilla or a pair of wolves.

I think you'll find the jaguar is superior with it's stock body and shorter limbs.

Tiger is the best cat. Pisses all over the lion. The Jaguar is ghay, it's up there with that lanky one that can jump high

The Jaguar was both admired and reviled in equal amounts whenever Margaret Thatcher stepped out of one.

Put a jaguar in a tank with a small bull shark and see how well it goes. It's no wonder their scared of water.

I wonder if we mutated into giant humans ... or ... if you could shrink a big cat overnight, would the human-cat relationship be the same as with our current domestic cats.
would tigers/jaguars stare at you from the giant windowsill and sit beside the giant press waiting for you to open an oversize tin of food....would they sit beside the giant fire.
i dont know. but ill write it anyway. because im bored. and i can.

She seems to be ok when I wear a suit but I also stick a gimp mask on.

Cheetahs are the best big cat.

I think they might even be kept as pets sometimes.

    I want one.

I think two wolves might be too much for the jaguar to handle, even with it's claw advantage and massive weight advantage. Might be a step to far.

What is this insolence? How is it more powerful than a Tiger?

He said pound for pound more powerful.

Cheetahs are the best big cat.

Why is the Cheetah the best big cat I hear you not care?

Well if I had a pet cheetah I could train in to go to the shops. It would be there and back in no fookin time.

Any other big cat would either be too slow or too busy killing people and what not.

    / Case closed.

Given that there are no big cat boxing championships, how exactly is this determined?

I bet a jaguar would run if you set the dog on it,where as the tiger would eat it.

I'd assume they look at the muscle mass and make extrapolations. Maybe they compare unusually small tigers strength versus unusually large Jaguars strength.

Well I'm dubious about this one. Even if it was true it's fairly irrelevant given that they are half the size of tigers. Would anyone care if the domestic cat was the strongest pound for pound feline out there?

Thats what pound4pound rankings is though. Two boxers of different weight classes arnt going to fight, its based on their records etc.

Black panther, a black variant of leopard, jaguar or cougar

The Argentinian national rugby team have a Jaguar in their emblem but a reporter mistook at as a Puma, the name stuck and they have been known as Los Pumas since.
