What a misnomer - a little bit of vomit - but by jasus does the world flood out of your arse in torrents!

Thank you nororvirus, thank you from me for doing something I haven't done since I was five, twice! ****ting my pants!

I heard it comes quick, but it was one moment I'm feeling grand, next moment I wished I was dead and no more than 20 seconds from the nearest toilet.

Kids - heed! - wash your hands often!

The old "fear of the fart" lasts for a few days after the vomiting stops!

I was grand by thursday but after dinner there and reading this I'm starting to panic.

I think I have Winter Vomiting Bug. Was throwing up last night til 8am, today I had a light case of diarrheoa and have headaches and have been sleeping on and off all day

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I have laughed at this thread today it is so discriptive - could not have laughed for barfing on fri/sat, for cleaning up after son no2 on sunday, for cleaning up after son no 1 yesterday and comforting other half. But it is a really crappy horrible bug, hoping we are done now

A mate of mine had it a few years ago and had gone down the country to visit his granny, Anyway he was on the bog giving it loads and needed to get sick so he instinctively stood up bent over to puke into the toilet bowl but was still going and managed to squirt brown sauce all over the bathroom it was even on her good curtains everywhere the worst thing of all was the bathroom was carpeted. :D When he told me what had happened i could'nt stop laughing for about a week.:pac:

Nasty yoke, about 3 days until you are back to normal again.

Keep drinking water and take salt.

I missed the bum part of it, but felt like death anyway.
It's passed by poop, my nephew is 1 years old and I was visiting over Christmas, poxy babies.

I've had something all day. Can't even keep water down. That's my Bank Holiday ruined...

A LITTLE bit of vomit? Talk about an understatement. It got so bad I was puking up the pure water that I was drinking to keep myself hydrated... Every time I tried to go to sleep I would have a half-dream about someone giving me a whole glass of Jagermeister to drink and that made me run to the bathroom again. WTF, brain?

Thank Buddha my bath is right next to my toilet, unfortunately I didn't always position myself the right way...

Day 2 here. I can kind of understand the OP because the torrent of rusty water or radiator drainage as it has so accurately already been described, comes so fast and unexpected I didnt know what was happening or when it was going to stop.
The vomit in comparison probably wouldn't have been as bad if I hadnt just had a fish dinner. Ive only felt well enough today to try to unblock the bath with and old wire coat hanger and loads of drain cleaner.

I did get some good advice though from D Doc. If you cant eat or drink, suck on a bit of an ice cube. When you can drink a little put loads of ice in a glass and pour some water over that and drink sips of icy water. Apparently the icy water makes your stomach shut down or something and decreases the nausea and vomiting.

Best of Luck to anyone else out there who has it......

Think this is more than likely your culprit!

Think this (meaning the fish I suppose) is more than likely your culprit!
Thought so too at first but I have had food poisoning before and this is worse, much worse.
Besides cooked the fish myself and it was very fresh. Just didnt like seeing it again so soon and today it wasnt any more pleasant to be dealing with.
Ive seen a doctor definite diagnosis alright.

I've had the norovirus and food poisoning from fish.
Both very similar in their "reaction":o

This sounds horrific but I almost want to catch it, just to see if it's as bad as people say...

Put in an edit there to say Ive had a definite diagnosis from GP and although similar to the food poisoning Ive experienced Ive had a very bad reaction to the Novovirus this time and needed some help to get through this one.
Guess thats why some people wind up in hospital and others can manage at home by themselves

My youngest got the noro while being an in-patient at 7 months old.
Horrendous thing, it was so bad that we couldn't even put a nappy on the child as(and don't mean to be graphic)it was literally streaming from the childs insides and was like an acid on contact with the skin(got some really bad burns really quickly).

I got it from the child so feel your pain, my friend:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,029 ✭✭✭SusieBlue

I got it, passed it on the my boyfriend, and recovered. A day or two after I got better he was still sick and he gave it to me again so I got it twice in one week :( Worst week ever, I'd never been so ill in my life!

The worst thing about when you're cured is that you've no confidence in the ability to fart for days afterwards.
