I thought it dragged a bit towards the end, but overall I thought it was hilarious. It's a certain brand of humour, yes, and it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Danny McBride completely stole the show, some great lines. I thought Jonah Hill was great too, with all the fake niceness, and Michael Cera's cameo is brilliant. It does have a lot of low-brow humour (a lot of talk of cum and what have you), but I don't think there's anything wrong with that from time to time. It doesn't take itself seriously at all, everyone takes the piss out of themselves and each other, and it's just all in good fun. It looked like a bunch of friends just having a bit of craic in a movie. There's great chemistry between them all, it's very easy to believe that they all actually do get on very well in reality. I loved
the homemade sequel to Pineapple Express!

I would bear in mind that it's not going to be the kind of thing that everyone finds funny. If you like Superbad, Knocked Up, etc., it's kind of up that street. If you're not into those kind of buddy comedies, then you're probably not going to enjoy it. It's got a specific audience, I think, but I like those kinds of movies, so I thought it was great fun.

    The part where Cera
blows a load of coke into McLovin's face asking him how it tastes
nearly made me choke on a mouthful of drink

Me and the misses found this hilarious.

We are big fans of these guys work, so to see them in one big mashup was brilliant. Like with any comedy, it's highly opinionated. Two guys here at my desk hate it, I thought it was one of the funniest films I've seen in ten years.

Then again I never found Will Farrell stuff overly funny, bar The Other guys. A defo DVD purchase when it comes out

The weird thing about movies like this is, people SHOULD already know if they're going to hate it before going to see it. So why they go see it and then b*tch about it afterwards is beyond me,

I hate the Scary Movie franchise, so I don't go see them. What I wouldn't do is go to see it (for some reason) and then complain about the low-brow humour!

    Thought it was hilarious myself.

"Sinkhole de mayo" and "Hello god, it's me, Jonah Hill.....from Moneyball" had me cracking up!

Agreed, certain people know that they dont like the actors/ other movies they have been in, then go see it and are outraged by how much they hated it.

"It's me Jonah Hill...America's sweetheart" The constant pisstaking of each others movies was funny. "Rogen where was that acting ability in Green Hornet?!" Danny McBride stole the show

I found the actors' previous works a decent laugh in places but this was muck. I didn't go to see this on purpose so I could bitch about it on the internet.

    It was just so weak.

A bigger pile of piss I have not seen, not in quite a while anyway. It just wasn't funny in my opinion.

I managed to stay until the end. Just about. Others who were at the same screening as me couldn't. And I don't blame them.

How on earth did this get 83% on Rotten tomatoes?

Don't know, you are not giving any reasons for not liking it, just calling it crap. Fair enough if that's your opinion but the lack of any reference to the actual film from you in both your comments would lead me to believer that you were perhaps either not giving it a chance or paying full attention.

Believe what you want. But I think a saying that I DID NOT FIND IT FUNNY is quite sufficient as a reason for not liking it.

It's not like it's a deep character study with a complicated plot. It's a simple "comedy" and by definition it should be funny. I didn't think it was. That's all I have to say about it I'm afraid. Sorry I can't give you anymore, you know, since I personally owe you an explanation and all.

Can't believe this forum has got even more pretensious such that people are looking for an in-depth critique of a film such as this muck.

Craig robinson is the man !

    He had some great lines

"What do you think this is Scooby Doo"

"I'm not sporting a crop top in your house"

    "You can't handle my midriff"

As a fangirl I did enjoy the
    Backstreet Boys
    cameo

Sorry if it's a bit too pretentious to ask for a reason why you didn't find it funny but since you seem to have such a stick up your ass about the movie I'll leave it.

As far as I'm concerned I was in a Canadian cinema and not one person seemed to dislike it. I've been told by Irish friends they found it funny but not spectacular, someone calling it muck and me questioning why and being called pretentious is very annoying and your attitude is totally dickish. You are on a discussion board in case you haven't realised.

i have a pain in my ribs from laughing, danny mcbride and jonah hill were show stealers! Enjoyed the whole movie right down to Seth walking through the Airport getting shouted at!

    Hilarious Film!

Thought this was class! Like others have said, I thought Danny McBride and Jonah Hill stole the show. I especially enjoyed Hills parts, McBride calling him
a cnut, and his reaction afterwards, his "exorcism" and him running around possessed!

And him acting all camp with the gun had me in stitches!

I liked the whole scene with Seth Rogan and James Franco hiding in the wardrobe. :pac:

This was probably the funniest film I've seen in a good while, much better than Hangover III and the like, but it wasn't outrageously funny.

Loved all the prolonged scenes like the one with the gun and the porn mag, but at times the movie was quite boring and seemed to fall flat and drag on in the third act. A solid 6/10 is probably a fair rating.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. Went with a friend yesterday, and there was only one other person in the entire theatre. I thought that might spoil the atmosphere, as comedies are usually more fun with crowded theatres, but I enjoyed the movie too much to care

Only two regrets, number one being that there wasn't more Michael Cera. I smiled with joy at everything he did, including his
    Final Destination-style impalement
. I also thought that the ending was a bit predictable in regards to
the sacrifices of Franco and Rogen, including Franco's almost immediate rejection
, which was a shame because the rest of the movie had me guessing what would happen next

I'm interested to see The World's End next week, another comedy-sci-fi-apocalypse, and compare notes

    Surprised people haven't mentioned the
Exorcism scene with the posessed Jonah Hill mocking the lads
    , hilarious!

One of the best comedies I've seen in years!

yeah i would love to know what
skeletons he had in his closet to say he deserved to get ass rapped by a demon and be possesed
, same goes for channing tatum and emma watson,
cause everyone left on earth had to have done something bad to say they were all left behind

This film has it's moments, no doubt about it. But it is far too indulgent, alot of scenes should have been reigned in. Whole film could have done with being at least half an hour shorter, would have helped with better pacing.

yeah thats a problem with a lot of films these days, back in the 90s most comedies were 90 minutes long, which was perfect, i dont think ive seen that many comedies that were about 2 hours long that didnt suffer from some non essential parts just to pad out the film for no reason at all,

Just watched this. Surprisingly very good.

Hollywood really needs to figure out their third acts in comedies but still, that was better than the last two Hangovers put together

Just turned this off after 10 minutes. I realize this has been well received but I really can't stand all these fùcking people in the same movie.

This is why I haven't watched it yet.

All the worse that they're playing themselves.

It was really really really bad. The main character( the guy that doesn't like LA) is a dose altogether. I don't understand how they can cast someone who has no charisma or comic timing. it's like he is reading his lines from cue cards
