Glad to see the French anthem getting the respect it deserves. Definitely the greatest song of all time.

Amhrán na bhFiann (guess I'm just a patriotic gal)

"Ode to Joy" anthem of the EU and the Council of Europe, not a national anthem per se but perhaps a supranational anthem :-)

Although purely instrumental (Beethoven's 9th), it sounds even better when the words of Schiller's Ode to Joy are added.

Frattelli d'Italia is just as good as the Marseillaise.

Flower of Scotland if sung by the delectable Amy MacDonald.

Otherwise, love the passion of the Italian national anthem.

Flower of Scotland in Murrayfield when the music stops and the crowd sings the chorus is always epic. Then obviously the French anthem.

I'm going to go with God Defend New Zealand as sung by Hayley Westenra. An Irish man wrote the English words and it's rather rousing.

Think that's an awful anthem imo - lyrics aside, it's a sickly-sweet and utterly predictable melody. Same goes for 'Advance Australia Fair'

Now La Marseillaise on the other hand......
