Boards.ie Tri Gear

As per all the other sporting forums (fora?) now that we have achieved independence should we now be considering some sort of T/D/AR badge to include on our tri gear? or some sort of hoodie?

Understanding that most will have club gear of their own to race in are there any suggestions for training or post race gear that people would use that would help identify the forum users?

Would anyone be bothered? I know I just missed a heap of boardsies in Galway, we were all racked close but it would have been nice to spot one and say hello.

I started programming computers when I was about 7 or 8, I tinkered with computers my whole life and then did a BSc in Computer Science and then a research MSc in formal methods and distributed computing. I have worked in computers since graduated.

So background for the following comment:

    FVCKING NERDS.

There are 10 types of nerds on these forum, those that understand binary and those that don't.

    I'll get my coat.

Do you really think that club gear was designed?...there is more artistic merit in my dogs sh*tes. A sample was presented the colors were changed as the name lashed on...job done, now when do we train. Most club gear out there is pretty ****e TBH, the only decent looking one is the Belpark gear but sure you may as well be running up the Falls in a Rangers jersey.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,468 ✭✭✭sconhome

My race shoes kinda go with the Activ gear

I wear my cycling gear from my old club (Belpark) when commuting, I was stopped the other day and asked "are you in Belpark too?" - no I cycle like a cvnt when commuting so I like to look the part............. :)

Honestly not sure. Was hoping to get more of an input than 010001 (hope that's an insult in binary! :p ) as to what people though of the idea.

Whether people would be happy with a badge to sew onto their existing club hoodie as a sign of being a boardsie. That or a tattoo across the back of the neck.

  • Subscribers Posts: 19,425 ✭✭✭✭Oryx

Yikes. Thats vivid. Go faster stripes? Well Id run like feck away from them.

I would like a hoody. As long as its not grey. People would wonder what Im at if Im checking them out looking for a badge....

And I prefer to have my tattoos where the sun dont shine.

    I know a member here who's in that club..........and likes the gear:eek:

    Problem with a boards hoody:

"Oh who are you on boards? I'm XYZ"
    "Tunney....."
    *Smack*

Sure why not though. Could be worth asking LCD for his opinion on styles and the like seeing as that is his business.

Probably because a certain boardsie collapsed and could only be released by the ambulance crew into the care of someone he knew. And he saw me, so I was otherwise engaged :)

Problem with a tri suit I guess is that most on here are in clubs and have tri gear already. I'd be happy with tri shorts to match up with my boards cycling jersey though. :)

  • Subscribers Posts: 19,425 ✭✭✭✭Oryx

Somewhere like champion system do have minimum order quantities but they will mix items within that and you can order just one of say, a trisuit, within a larger order. Now choosing the design is another matter. :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,783 ✭✭✭RidleyRider

But most the people in the cycling forum have cycling apparel and they're in a club too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,584 ✭✭✭✭tunney

Most people on the cycling forum don't race. See here

In a race no one who is in a club is going to wear any other gear bar sponsors, or national kit (see above link for this one)

    Training gear maybe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,783 ✭✭✭RidleyRider

I'm well aware of this but none the less they still have it. It still outlines the boardsies while training or whatever.
