Is it time to sell sell sell???? How can there be such a dramatic slump n such a small time? 45-50,000 attendance at every home game. Investors such as Mike Ashley. Puma making the shirts. The money coming in from the 5 million worldwide fan base who pay x amount to watch every game online (is it rangers tv?) The obvious fact that you're debt free.

Am definitely no economist but given even some of the above factors, why would share prices drop so much? Maybe it's nothing and actually par for the course for this time of year as the league is now won so there's nothing to play for, and sure season ticket money wont come in til when? May/June???

Former Rangers owner Craig Whyte has agreed to sell the book and film rights to his story of his takeover and the financial collapse of the club.

In an announcement to the stock exchange on Wednesday, Worthington Group plc announced that it had acquired a 26% stake in Law Financial Limited, one of Mr Whyte’s companies.

The group said the assets acquired by Worthington include the legal action Mr Whyte launched against current Rangers chief executive Charles Green, who he has accused of acting as a "front" for him last summer.

In the stock exchange announcement, Worthington Group said: "It has also been agreed that, pursuant to the agreement certain other related rights, assets and causes of action will be transferred to the Law Financial Group or directly to Worthington.

"Those assets include the book, film and television rights to the two takeovers of The Rangers Football Club in 2011 and 2012 as it relates to Craig Whyte. It is intended that these rights will be commercialised in due course."

Mr Whyte purchased an 85% stake in Rangers from Sir David Murray for £1 in May 2011.

The club was placed into administration last February with debts of up to £124m, including £18m of unpaid tax following Mr Whyte’s takeover.

Mr Green’s consortium purchased the assets of the club through the newco Sevco Scotland Limited in a £5.5m deal last June. Mr Whyte is contesting this, claiming the deal was struck by administrators Duff and Phelps with another firm, Sevco 5088, which he claims to be behind.

Rangers have announced they are preparing a file to submit to Police Scotland on Mr Whyte and his associate Aidan Earley's conduct.

Worthington, which purchased the stake in Law Financial Ltd for £250,000 in convertible loan notes, said the company "has a number of subsidiaries, namely Sevco 5088 Ltd, Law Capital Ltd, Litigation Capital Ltd and Media Litigation Ltd."

It has the option of buying out Mr Whyte’s stake in the firm until October 31 this year.

In relation to the legal action against the current Ibrox regime, Worthington said: "The assets of Sevco 5088 Ltd include a claim, which has been independently reviewed by Leading Counsel who is also a Deputy High Court Judge, to all of the business and assets of RFC 2012 Plc which were purchased by Sevco 5088 Limited or Sevco Scotland Ltd from the administrators of RFC 2012 plc in June of 2012.

"Sevco Scotland Ltd was subsequently renamed The Rangers Football Club Limited and its share capital was acquired by Rangers International Football Club Plc, the shares of which are now traded on AIM. It is the position of Sevco 5088 Ltd that it is the rightful owner of the business and those assets. After examination of the evidence, Leading Counsel's advice is that there is a prima facie case to answer."

Douglas Ware, chief executive officer of the Worthington Group, added: "We believe that the transaction contemplated by this announcement gives the company a major opportunity to increase shareholder value and thus to strengthen the company's balance sheet, enabling the company to look at additional opportunities as they arise."

Guess he has to find that £17m for Ticketus somewhere!

They should get the Monty Python team in, and Ricky Gervais to do Charles Green.

If you ever wonder why the dont seem to ask the right questions, look beneath the surface of things and find out the things that people dont want to answer publicly. Here is an article that sums up the menality of sports journalists in Scotland given that these two muppets have enough time on their hands to do this and not be sacked. Im only surprised that the text isnt in crayons.

Why arent the media putting pressure on the SFA to change the policy on fit and proper persons test instead of churning childish pieces like this?!

Not much, Walter Smith will probably be asked to be CEO and Charlie Green will sit on his 8% until he can cash out for a profit.

Charles Green was like the Comical Ali of Scottish football, providing great entertainment on an ongoing basis. He'll be a huge loss.

Careful lads, some whizz-kid statistician might come in and point out there has been nigh on two pages of Celtic fans laughing at The Rangers without any of their fans surfacing to discuss the recent hilarity at Ibrox.

Fans desperate to save their club shocker!

I'd be more interested in who Bears thinks should be CEO. Walter Smith should be asked but whats the feeling if he cant commit to that job? I dont think there is another Rangers man that the fans trust better but I think its a gimme that another outsider taking the reigns will be met with huge hostility.

As much as I hate to say it I don't know if WS has the business acumen to take it on. But we need someone who can talk for the club without being over the top

You need someone who will pipe down and get on with the business side of things like a grown-up instead of constantly trying to keep the club in the media and sucking up to the fans.

    Aaaaaand I'm back :pac:

I honestly think Smith just wants back to the jobs for the boys bollocks, ffs there's even talk of some people wanting Bain back in.

Man, I don't think i could have picked a better time to get banned! :D

Anyway, I'm gonna echo Jelle's words regarding Smith. It worries me the way things are going and many fans can't see past Smith's successes as a manager in order to see just how much damage "Rangers Men" done to the club over the years.
The whole club needs restructuring, from top to bottom, and this Mather guy seems to have his head in the right place when it comes to youth set ups etc.

I don't want Bain back. I don't want Smith in a role like that, because he's not a business man.

Ye have had club men which were willing to do anything to maintain the status quo and ye've had profiteers that were willing to do anything to make a profit. Finding someone that strikes the right balance and can demonstrate that he's capable to lead the club will be the work of the individuals PR management.

Or maybe Smith become Chairman of the board and Malcom Murray become CEO?

Is the profile of the major shareholders known to fans, are they all in it for the short term gain or what do they envision for the club in 5 years time?

IMO, Peter Lawwell is very much a profiteer but has good PR skills and kept under healthy financial controls and scrutiny by very capable businessmen in their own right on the board, like Desmond. He's been very lucky with the managers the club has hired imo, Strachan done wonders on the cost/debt cutting measures he implemented, Mowbray was a financial disaster but selling McGeady mitigated that pinch and with Lennon he has bought into the philosphy of buying cheap and selling developed talent. This philosphy has inherent instability attached but again, he has managed the risks well enough.

I suppose the problem is when you get too many like minded individuals on the board. Finding what the current board want to do is what the fans need to know but fat chance the Scottish Media will go asking for ye. The likes of Speirs are too busy on twitter bitching about the t shirts celtic players wore yesterday and arranging their next golf trip.

Rangers fans believed Greens story on account Whyte wasn't to be trusted, Whyte was called an unreliable source of information while they swallowed lie after lie from Green. Most bears were taken in by Whyte in the first place, and up until a week or two ago Green was a stand up guy. Both were outed as con men on Celtic websites a year ago.

Lets take a look at some Greens moonbeams.

    Branding Craig Whyte 'delusional'.
Promising a culture of openess, honesty and full transparency and then refusing to reveal the identities of those behind Hargreave Hale, Artemis Investment Management LLP, Blue Pitch Holdings, Margarita Funds Holding Trust and Cazenove Capital Management Limited, who between them, own nearly 30% [28.07%] of the club.
Those mysterious big five families of wealthy Middle-Eastern investors.
The promised £30m he claimed he had in the bank, to spend.
The promised 19 signings he had lined up - five of whom played at Euro 2012.
The £10m warchest for Fat Sally.
Stating he wouldn't be leaving until Sevco have WON the Champions League.

Signing those loan players from Newcastle Utd as they look to trim their 32-man squad.
Promising to sign up with Adidas to become the biggest name in their sporting portfolio, and then signing up with Genesis Sports.
Releasing no financial details of the sooper-dooper deal with downmarket cider brand, Blackthorn.
Releasing no financial details of the sooper-dooper deal with budget sports retailer Puma.
The 'Rangers Business Alliance' which would sign up 7,000 Scottish companies to an 'exciting and innovative opportunity to network and build long term relationships'.
Hooking up with the Dallas Cowboys in a colossal merchandising tie-in.
Telling Peter Smith (STV) that he had an email from the Dallas Cowboys and promising to show it to him after the TV interview concluded.
The 'business development' plans in Asia and the Far East.
Tthe multi-million pound deal to sell advertising space on the roof of Murky Park.
Brian Laudrup becoming the new Sevco ambassador.
The £1m crossbar challenge mysteriously disappearing.
The new Rankers Shop opening up at Glasgow Airport.
Electing a fans' representative onto the football board.
The renaming of Murky Park as promised, once the 2012/13 season tickets had been bought.
The £30k Sevco share of the Dundee Utd Scottish Cup tie gate money supposedly being donated to charity.
Claiming to have £21m in share pledges, whilst still trying to attract investment from Greenock gangsters.
Playing in those Testimonials for 'two of the biggest players in EPL'.
Playing benefit matches with Newcastle Utd, Spurs and Lazio to raise funds for Paul Gascoigne.
Playing a friendly with Arsenal and then buying back new Arsenal shares.
A US pre-season tour that includes games against Newcastle Utd and LA Galaxy.

Building a new Ibrox walkway to the ground, similar to Wembley Way.
A new museum and café bar so that fans can spend 3-4 hours at Ibrox on a non-matchdays.
Adding another tier to the Govan Stand to make Ibrox the biggest stadium in Scotland.
Using Jabba Traynor to 'control the media'.
Releasing the deluge of inside info that Jabba Traynor has on all those people you said were on Imodium.
Building a TV broadcast unit inside Argyle House.
    Starting up Rangers Radio.
Building an in-house communications studio to host their own phone-in show, hosted by Jabba Traynor.

Opening up new USA talent academies in Florida & California that Claudio Reyna is helping to set up.
Setting up the talent academies in Japan and China.
Signing three Hondurans (Bryan Figueroa, Junior Padilla & Omar Elvir).
Claiming that there are 500 million Sevco fans worldwide meaning that 7% of the world's population supports them.
Claiming that those 500 million fans will all buy TV streams of fourth tier games.
Claiming those sales would raise £100 million in digital revenues alone.
Claiming that turnover will top £20m this year and £40m next.
Claiming that Sevco's turnover would reach £100m (without TV revenues !!), would be second only to Man United and Arsenal, and 'will be worth HALF A BILLION in five years time'.
Claiming that all in the garden is so rosy, whilst haemorrhaging £1m per month (June - Dec 2012).
    Claiming that he has 'Rangersitis'.
Claiming that 'almost all of the big stadiums have now been renamed' .......... apart from maybe Camp Nou, Bombonera, Old Trafford, Gerland, Wembley, Olimpico, Bernabeau, Mestalla, San Siro, Celtic Park, Da Luz, Maracana, Velodrome, Amsterdam Arena, Luzhniki, Anfield, Dragao, Westfalenstadion, De Kuip, Hampden, Azteca, Parc Des Princes ..........
