Seriously disappointed not to win this, all the chances and possession but that last ball...

    Waghorn was really unimpressive.

Again you are talking pish you say reminiscent of Sandaza so were you privy to what Barton said to Warburton or vice versa. I guess the answer would be a big no sostopwith the head in the sand 2012 stuff. You are nothing but a trouble maker it has been made clear this is a football thread. Have you actually ever posted about a game in here

I am privy to what Barton said. Same as anyone else who listened to him tell Jim White on TalkSport the other night what happened.

As for posting about games, I see the juggernaut continues. 0-0 today.

    Is Warburton under pressure?

Bad signings, terrible morale, players fighting, biggest earner suspended, massive underperformance... all the while a massive wage bill that you just can't afford.

Terrible performances on the pitch matched by the same off the pitch.

    The mismanagement continues.

How can he be under pressure?... He has a magic hat sure...

You seem to have a line in the sand about what should and shouldn't be said about this incident yet you have indulged yourself in unsubstantiated reports about Barton's behaviour at Ranger. Bit of having your cake and eat it, no?

Its clear you are leaning towards supporting the club over the player but there is a clear failure to question or criticize the club for their lack of transparency, again! Its probably a case of Barton being colourful and Warburton not handling the situation too well tbh.

What Barton actually said would give a great insight into the mentality of him and other people at the club after a spectacular defeat. You'd think this would have been the burning question of Rangers fans instead of the usual stance of we dont know anything so no discussion.

Warbs has walked away from the Press Conference.

Started talking about money markets, building bricks etc... and got up and walked out!

He's not coping too well with the pressure of The Rangers by the looks of things.

    9 points from a possible 18 with a goal difference of -2.

With the second biggest wage bill in Scotland he's looking like he's struggling.

He walked out because the hacks only asked about Barton, time and time again. Despite Warburton saying he wouldn't discuss it.
They then kept at it, he said that if one of them asked again he would walk out. One idiot did, hence...

Also, seems you still think that the whole 'The Rangers' patter annoys us. It's always been known as such to the fans. Best try to find something else to try and get a rise out of us. :pac:

He walked out muttering 'that was never a 0-0 game'

Warbs is delighted the press are focusing on Barton and letting him off the hook.

Warbs must stay, judge him in May.

As a Celtic fan, delighted with that news.

From back in July.... A couple of Hoops fans didn't agree with me that it was good news at the time. :pac:

I know it's been mentioned before but any chance the rangers fans could learn to use the quote function? it's not rocket science lads and makes it far easier to follow threads.

Waghorn isn't fit, that was really obvious yesterday. He is going to need a few games to get his match fitness up to scratch and I think we'll see him at his very best at the point. The result yesterday was disappointing. You could say that it "was one of those days". We couldn't put it all together. If we got one, they would have had to switch to a more attacking style and we would have won quite comfortably.

Barton suspended for 3 weeks. So say Sky Sports.
Making an example of him anyway.

Hopefully 3 week bans for calling Rangers a new club doesn't apply here too after that precedent.

    Strange decision by the club.

Are they trying to force Barton out and mutually cancel his contract so as not to have to pay him off?

Not often you hear of a player being suspended for 3 weeks, sounds pretty desperate by The Rangers.

I wonder will Joey spill the beans and let us know what happened, he doesn't like staying quiet but if he speaks out now it might allow the club to terminate his contract.

Whatever you say Joey say nothing... until your pay off then spill the beans!!!

Wonder does he regret calling his horse Wearethepeople yet?

They are possibly trying to engineer his departure from the books at minimum cost. Hard to say really.... But the definite take away is that what he said must have been pretty bad.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,839 ✭✭✭Jelle1880

Or maybe the fact that he supposedly apologised and then on twitter started talking about how he didn't really do that.

    Not necessarily.

Think they realised it was a poor signing and now trying to cut their losses.

A 3 week suspension does nothing for nobody. If they wanted Barton in the team they'd make him do a grovelling public apology and all would be forgiven. If he refused then they could suspend/sack him.

If what he did was bad enough to be sacked then they would have done that. Instead Barton, who has no preseason training behind him, will have spent a total of 4 weeks on the sidelines. They could have him training with Youths etc... but they've just suspended a player already struggling for fitness.

This can only be an attempt to engineer him out of the club.

Expectations at Rangers were just daft this season. Yes they are back in the Premier League, but realistically it was going to be virtually impossible for them to compete with Celtic who for once have bought shrewdly in the transfer market. In Sinclair, Dembele, and Roberts, Celtic have three incredible attacking talents who are head and shoulders above any of their peers at this level.

I think most of the blame at Rangers falls on the recruitment team. When you look at some of the tired old faces at Rangers (Senderos, Barton, Hill, Kranjcar, Miller) - then you look at the above three Celtic players, you have to wonder what management were thinking?

Rangers arill have the 2nd highest wage bill in Scotland for the past few years. For what they are spending, they are still dramatically underachieving

Some of the quotes being attributed to Barton tonight are hilarious.

Apparently from interviews going to print tomorrow, if they're true I can't see how he can go back into that dressing room

He has a book out shortly. He doesn't care about Rangers, other than to use this spat to publicise his book launch.

Warburton says there'll be no further comment from the club or Barton and then he goes and sits down with a paper and spills that.

Everyone involved has handled this badly.

Scottish Sun are now reporting that Barton is up on betting charges. That might explain the 3 weeks ban?

Unless this is just the SFA helping us get rid of him? ;)

2 separate things but the SFA have a history of giving Rangers a sporting advantage, remember Jim Farry withholding Cadetes registration intentionally?

    What a mess.

How do you think your club has handled this Barton fiasco Jelle? You think they're trying to force him out or sack him? You think Barton deserves to be treated the way he's being treated?
