Same old, you say you're 'not engaging in whataboutery' but that's exactly what's happening.

When have Rangers fans pretended to hang not just Celtic fans but for example Catholics ? Because one of the dolls had an orange sash, that's far more sinister than 'just' a Rangers scarf (which could be explained by the football rivalry). Or for that matter, when have Rangers fans ever shown a banner with 'Kill All Taigs' ?

What happened at CP last weekend was far more sinister and evil + on a whole other level than singing about being up to your knees in blood.

Maybe both sets are working through the alphabet

Her is a KAI banner at the match on Saturday, this time the banner is surrounded by guys in red, blue and white. The next derby game with have KAJ and KAK banners

I wonder if Rangers fans want a seperate thread for when their club make embarrassing press releases that read like they were written in crayon

Apparently calling Celtic fans out for what they did is 'embarrassing'.

edit: Schadenfreude is a beautiful thing at times ;)

I see, so having a banner (one disgusting banner btw so it could be just 1 or 2 fans responsible) calling to kill certain people is not as bad as dozens of fans singing about actually killing people? Not to mention hundreds and thousands singing it on previous occasions.

The effigies were beyond reprehensible btw, i just cannot fathom the logic behind it

Ah we are back to Jain guy again what about the thousands and thousands of you that were Chanting DOB. Whether it's one or two does not matter especially as nothing was done be up there with the guy that threw the lighter at Rickson

Actually it does matter if it was one or two lads or a whole section of a support, How do you know nothing will be done? As for chanting DOB  Whats your point exactly?

The point is the amount of complaining about sectarian sing that comes from a lot of tic fans and then the DOB chants happen

Well nothing was done about the Ricksen incident so I would be surprised if nothing is done about the latest incident.

And before you say anything. I want anyone involved in the toilet incident Jailed and banned for life same with anyone involved in sectarian singing from our support

So you're not going to call out your own fans for their singing? Great, glad that's cleared up.

Most of the fans on both sides on here seem perfectly capable of calling out the dicks in their support, and rightly so. There's no place for any of that crap at a football match, be it banners, dolls, or songs.

I eagerly await your explanation of how exactly violent acts against dolls is so much worse than singing about such acts on people.[/QUOTE

What the showing a doll with an orange sash on obviously representing an Orangeman been hung execution style with hands behind his back. Pretty sure you are not daft enough to say it was an act against dolls

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,704 ✭✭✭Broxi_Bear_Eire

Unless Celtic fans have uncovered some kind of Fenian voodoo ritual, then yes, it was an act against dolls.

It was disgusting, in case there's any confusion about my stance on it. Just no more disgusting than singing about being up to ones knees in fenian blood.

And as I had said in an earlier post anyone singing about fenians should be jailed

It may have been a doll but it obviosly represented the Orange Order so ever but as bad imo

Never gonna happen. You need the punters in. It's your only revenue stream. There was 20,000 plus singing it at last seasons cup semi final, live on the BBC.

Yeah because we are all bigots goes peace and condem your own for their sectarian and terrorist bigots in your own support

Did you not claim it was depicting Kris Boyds brother?

Whatever it was it was bang out of order, I'm sure we can agree on that.

I claimed a lot of people believed that to be the case but art the enc if the day it's now becoming a tit for tat carry on and both clubs and the SFA along with the other clubs need to accept strict liability then and only then will something happen

Its a bit dishonest to distance yourself from the suicide angle now.

It just proves how desperate rangers fans were to find a reason to be offended and distract from the loss.

Ye invented a reason (you included) and jumped on the suffering of a family over a football match.

The remarkable thing was that there was plenty of rotten behaviour in Celtic park Saturday to point at.

I'm Just making a point about the mentality. (Which doesn't detract from what actually happened)

How do you know nothing will be done?

History would suggest that nothing will be done. Broxi_Bear_Eire has given the Ricksen incident as an example but there are others, as you well know.

Just stop Rangers never ever said it had anything to do with Kris Boyds brother and yes I have moved on as more subject matter had come to light. So I won't apologise for my precious statements funny though how it always seems to be Rangets fans that have to apologise. No. I didn't invent any reason but as you want to discuss this everyone and there auntie who has had the least bit of constant with a suicide knew last week was world suicide day so it was difficult to see why people thought the way they did. I as a Rangers fan am not going to apologise when it is clear that amazingly people managed to get all the articles used in mock hangings past security at your ground. I hope Lawell and co are investigating that

Yeah, strangely I can't remember any commentator having to apologise to people watching at home for Celtic singing disgusting songs/using derogatory language.

Or the Celtic squad and management posing with a bigoted nationalist band for photos before any game.

Take a few minutes to think about the behavior of a section of your support during some of the Remembrance day celebrations.

Ye was a reference to the fans not the club.

I never suggested an apology, just pointed out a fact.

You pretended that Celtic fans were mocking suicide in a scramble to show Celtic fans in a worse light than Rangers fans.

    That's an interesting mentality.

I think we can all agree on your point about finding out who did it and how they got them in.

Still on about that I see, despite being proven wrong about that in the past.

Just because they are a Loyalist band doesn't make them bigots. Maybe in your weird little world it does but that doesn't really count I'm afraid.

Still can't bring yourself to hold those singing the Billy's boys to the same standard as those hanging dolls or Hun banners?

I have no problem calling them all what they are.

But calling out the billy boys is beyond you?

I'm not engaging in whataboutery by the way. any Celtic fans engaging in secterianism are *****, and they were out in force Saturday. They aren't welcome in Parkhead.

Ijust find it a joke that a section of rangers fans want it both ways, ban Celtic fans while defending/ignoring/applauding/participating in equally appalling behaviour themselves.

Maybe in a roundabout way Rangers fans are trying to make the argument that they are after all a brand new club without an institutionalized ingrained sectarian past (Donald Findlay belting out the usual auld ballad on camera.... etc etc)..... If they admit that, we might believe them that they are whiter than white.........

Rememberence day? Shouldn't politics be kept out of football??

You are 100% correct. Being a loyalist flute band does, indeed, not make them bigots. Marching the day before the pictures were taken in rememberance of Brian Robinson, who murdered an innocent man for being Catholic makes them bigots.

Not possible, sure the Rangers board would have issued a strongly worded statement if that was the case.

Oh because you lot don't sing them at home which is a lie considering Saturday doesn't excuse you when you belt them out awayfrom home. And tell me when did this happen at Ibrox. Much as I disagree with the band stuff there were no laws broken and that particular band have been commended for their cross community work
