When McCall said he'd do anything to keep Motherwell in the top flight he was true to his word.
A man of principle. Well played Sir.

    Look on bright side.

Ye get to play at Easter Road twice next season. What more would anyone want.

Think this result has probably done Rangers a favour, think they would have been embarrassed on a weekly basis in the top flight. They have next season now to ?finally sorry out off field (optimistic for them I know) and make a decent charge on the field with young players rather than mercenaries.

The thing is the vast majority of these players will not be there next year so saying that they would be embarrassed is an unknown

    Great juxtaposition in this photo

McCall when interviewed after the game said he did not see the incident as he was heading up the tunnel

I've not seen enough Scottish football to know, you probably know better but even with what you're saying I can't see a team with a brand new squad on a insanely tight budget competing. We'll never know now but I still honestly think it might be a blessing in disguise.

@Simon_Rowntree: BREAKING: Police have also arrested #MotherwellFC forward Lee Erwin after allegedly racially abusing #RFC defender Bilel Mohsni

McCall said something like this in his interview that Erwin used a word he didn't want to repeat.

    https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/football-erwin-hits-mohsni-behaviour-184712553--sow.html

There's no mention of racial abuse in reports from the BBC or other media outlets. The reports are saying that Mohsni refused to shake Irwin's hand at the end of the game, Irwin then pushed him and Moshni reacted by physically attacking him. Irwin shouldn't have pushed him but that really is scumbag like behaviour from Mohsni.

Erwin said on BT sport that Moshni told him to feck off after he put his hand out to shake hands....

Honestly want to tell me what the clubs budget will be for next year as I along with every other Rangets fan don't know that. Tbe only thing I can be sure of is King is not going to waste money the way it has been wasted for the last three years but against that I don't imagine the players will need to take part time jobs to supplement their income ;)

Not sure how to ask this question without a ban but can The Rangers actually financially survive another year in the Championship?

I don't know either but is the financial reward in top division in Scotland really anything to get excited about, its not like the gulf in rewards offered to EPL and those the English Football League can offer. TV rights of £15 million a season for SPL are pretty paltry, its less than Sky pay for Rugby League ffs. Home support make up huge percentage of Rangers gate, so outside of Celtic what other big money spinning fixtures are they missing out on?
Maybe there are other financial considerations I'm unaware of.

Tons of expensive contracts running out, hopefully replaced with lower wages and lesser expensive players ?

I don't foresee any real issues.

I'd say an answer to that will only be possible mid August. Ints going to be a brand new squad next year for Rangers

Not a clue, all depends on who comes in, both players and management.

You owe Mike Ashley £5m, Douglas Park £1.5m, have given up 75% of your retail income until you pay back Mike Ashley, barely get 30k through the gates per game and a good majority of the squad, including the player that dragged you to the playoffs (Vukicic) are out of contract or leaving. Don't own your badges or trademarks. Have a crumbling stadium. Apparently paying £280,000 a month to an unknown entity for unknown reasons (never denied nor rebutted by anyone at the club)

Yeah, I don't foresee any real issues.

Personally i am not interested in apparentlys. Secondly "crumbling stadium" nah it needs some work it it is mainly cosmetic. And most importantly there is an EGM on the 12th June that Ashley called for and King readily obliged so I will wait until after that before making any comments on our future

Just looking at the pictures of Moshni etc, looks like someone could be up for assault charges tbh

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,165 ✭✭✭Savage Tyrant

That Moshni lad is a scruffy cúnt... That said, if it transpires he was racially abused, I'd be the first to say he was well within his rights to throw a box or 4.
Otherwise, just a scruffy sore loser.

If he says he was racially abused then that's enough for the SFA to find the other party guilty. They've set a ridiculous precedent for this.

Racially abused?? Where have you pulled that from?? I've read nothing to say that there was any racist abuse towards him. I even googled it when I read this and there is nothing??

If I was a Ranger's fan I would want them to have the balls to develop their playing style. Get in a young coach with some idea about playing attractive football. Focus on the underage players and developing a footballing identity.

Out of all of the chaos there should be an opportunity to start developing young footballers.

That said, I'm not a fan and it won't surprise me if they miss the opportunity through being short sighted and not having a real "football" man in charge. Ashley is poison as any geordie will testify, Dave King sounds like the least likely saviour around.

Dave King has been involved with Rangers one way or another for a long time and while not fully trusted most think he will be good in the long run he is willing to take Ashley on and sacking the two puppets Ashley had put in place showed his intent. Also some people will be quick to bring up Kings past but people are supposed to be allowed a second chance. 99% of Rangers fans are well aware that Ashley is bad news. Chances were missed over the last three years due to the criminal happenings since Craig Whyte. As the season has just finished we await news but I am pretty sure there will be big changes over the coming weeks

Quite literally a second chance, considering he was sitting on the board of the liquidated Rangers.
