Seems the SFA want to make clubs more liable for problems in scottish society.

Interesting that they want to change the definition of a new club, associate membership after the strokes pulled for Rangers and Airdrieonians

Seems its only when they have to use the rules that they find that they arent fit for purpose, no surprises there

What a shame that even some Celtic supporters have assumed that Anthony is guilty. Nothing like supporting your team and players is there?

The story originated in the Sun (which of course has a great record in telling the truth and not twisting anything) and of course was picked up by other media. Why anyone would be raging is beyond me when we only have a little bit of the 'story'. And why would Celtic release him based on a story in the Sun? Lennon will probably remember Newcastle in 2002 and how a nothing incident was reported by the press.

Well all I can say is Anthony Stokes still has my support and I believe if we can get him signed to a contract extension this summer it will be a great piece of business for Celtic. I am hoping we get him signed to a new 4 year deal. I really think he will become a massive player for us if we do.

Scottish clubs have voted against implementing stricter regulations to combat racism and sectarianism.

Turkey's dont vote for christmas. Making football clubs responsible for societies problems is wrong. They are all trying to set the right example and thats where their responsibility should end.

Not actually signed yet but it seems to be a formality at this stage, or so my source tells me :pac:

The photo op with the scarf was probably seen by Lawwell and is currently lowballing his agent

Pete will be factoring the price of that scarf and where it came from in the negotiations:D

according to my anonymous source (today fm) hull have put in a bid for hooper 4 million pound. massive undervaluation even without factoring in that hes English and therefore worth more.

Pistol Pete would be foolish to sell now for a pittance tbh

There will be always desperate clubs in August

I can't see why he'd go to Hull. They'll spend next season getting routinely battered and will be back in the Championship after that. Hooper probably wouldn't score much for them because he probably wouldn't get many chances to score, so if it's the case that he really wants to break into the England squad for the World Cup, moving to Hull wont help.

Maybe other EPL clubs will offer more money and outbid Hull. He's been very close to getting an England call up - he got one but got injured I think - the minute that happens his value goes up regardless of everything else.

They're not bidding what his value is but what they think he might get him for. Hopefully one or two more come in fro him and start a bidding war, get up around the £6m mark

Tbh norwich would be a good move for him if they are still interested rather than hull.. not going to get that 7 million offer for him again though

I don't think Hull & Norwich are the teams Hooper would be looking to move to but it's early yet and I'm sure he'd be on a few EPL teams shopping lists. I still wouldn't rule out the possibility of him staying on for another year.

Balde looks like another Mo Bangura, talking a good game before he arrives but his record doesn't back it up so far. Obviously not the brightest with his comments on "Gary who?" and then allowing himself to be photoed with a Celtic scarf before signing but hopefully he'll prove me wrong.

I would say given the only names being mentioned with Hooper lately being Hull, Norwich and QPR there is a pretty good chance he will be with us still next season. In fact I think it may well come down to what happens with our Champions League qualifiers. If we progress I think he will stay with us rather then go to a low level epl club.

He'll have to sign a new contract to be with us past August, Celtic will be cashing in, not letting him leave as a free agent

His main goal seems to be to get on the national team which is unlikely to happen at hull whatever about norwich and in which case he'd be better off in Glasgow aiming to get noticed in the champions league. On that same subject was fraser forster only in the english panel for that one game? I'd definately rate him higher than that Mccarthy guy

Would be fairly disastrous for Celtic if he was to go there. Whatever about Norwich, losing a star player to Hull would not be a very good sign to send out in terms of what Celtic are trying to achieve.

As long as Hull pay the valuation, I think it is more disastrous for Hooper than Celtic

True and I think if it gets to August and the only offers are from the likes of Hull there is a good chance of him signing a contract with a nice pay rise and release fee. Especially if we are making progress in the Champ Lge qualifiers.

Only if he doesn't do well. If he goes there and does well in a poor team, he gets a better move out of it. If he doesn't do well, then that is probably the end of his Premier League chances anywhere.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow for the friendly against Liverpool.

I'm looking to pick up a few, anyone know if there's a designated Celtic section?

Unless the bids are so low that it isn't worth selling him, if Hooper doesn't sign a new deal Celtic will sell him. In that scenario it makes no difference to Celtic where he goes to, it will be to the highest bidder who offers a reasonably acceptable price. It'd be a bad move for Hooper himself to go to Hull.

The match is being advertised as "the Dublin Decider"?

Decider of what? Is there a tournament or a one off match?

Have the tickets sold out, been trying for an hour on my phone and the ever so helpful ticketmaster site twice made me lose my tickets by not continuing to the next page after I clicked.

Try a different web browser to access the ticketmaster website

I haven't even been able to get to the stage where I can select seats/tickets, keeps telling me my selection is not available. Looking to include an U16 ticket also, wonder is that the problem?

Edit: just tried for a couple of adult tickets, still not joy, I get this:
Sorry, no exact matches were found, but other tickets may still be available.

I'm selecting "any price" for the tickets, and "best available" for the location, otherwise I'd need to check each individual section one by one.

    **** website.

Yep that's all I am getting now too which is making me think they are all gone.

Jaysus, surely not.... I know a lot were prob given to the clubs to sell, some of which might go back on general sale if they don't shift them, but surely a friendly would not sell out in a matter of hours (or minutes, as I was checking from 9.30 this morning when they went on general sale).

Really wanted to go to this.

I might go to one of their stores at lunch to try but there was talk on the Liverpool Tickets thread of people being told it had been sold out so I will probably be wasting my time.
