2-0 at half time. This stream is great - http://nutjob.eu/njtvx1.html

Harry Kane hit the post after 20 mins.

Then Pritchard assisted a Jonathan Obika heade on the half hour mark.

Pritchard scored a cracker from outside the box on 40 mins.

I'm looking forward to Kenny McEvoy coming on. He deserves to be starting.

    2 - 2 now

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,946 ✭✭✭SuprSi

3 - 2 to Utd, 3 minutes of normal time left. I'm glad these commentators, especially the Paddy fella are never on normal PL or cup matches - he's bloody brutal!

    Finished 3 - 2

Sickening after winning BOTH leagues, group and elite. Placing above United in both.

Fcuk that, what an end to the season for both our teams.

    P.S. Paddy Crerand's a pri*k.

Assume he was the commentator on MUTV? I know its a man utd channel and all but my god was he ridiculously biased, calling for all our players to be booked and then one of their lad karate kicks Tommy Carroll (think it was lil tom) in the head and he makes out as if its fine. Among loads of other really annoying things!

How is it possible that a team can win the league by 8 points yet not be champions, because the PL decide a play-off should take place, and that the 2nd best team should host the game?!?! Wouldn't see it happen in the Premier League itself!!! - Wingnut , MK, United Kingdom, 20/5/2013 22:59

Strange system, imagine United had to play City in a decider for the EPL..

PS. I'm not bitter, fair play to our U21's, great potential in there!

It is very strange that the game is played at the runner ups home ground.

I'm not to bothered about the play off as long as everyone knows before hand and it is good experience of knock out competition but should surely be played either at a neutral venue or at the winners home ground I would of thought?

Seriously though its daylight robbery. The winners of the league by a sizeable margin forced to play a play off with second place at their ground. That really pisses me off.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,746 ✭✭✭irishmover

The entire system was known from the off. It's not like when FIFAdecided to change the seeding to screw over Ireland.

The u21's will have learnt more from that defeat to Man Utd than any other defeat they've ever had. It's a good lesson for them.

The play offs were but to the best of my knowledge the location of the final was only decided very late in the season. It should have been played at a nuetral ground.

The draw was made before the semi finals were played.

We were either playing at Anfield or Old Trafford. Everyone knew in advance.

However I do agree it definitely should have been played at a neutral ground including the semi final. It was the first year of it though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,058 ✭✭✭Pacing Mule

Man Utd played Liverpool in the semis didn't they. Was is that a draw was made that whichever half of the semis was drawn got home advantage for the final ? (as in were we in with a chance of having it at our place ourselves) If so then I withdraw my horns as such.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,746 ✭✭✭irishmover

I actually think the home team was always going to be the winner of Semi Final A. So yeh you're being rewarded by finishing 2nd or 3rd.

I think. The format on the premier league website doesn't explain how the location of the final is decided.

    This is very disappointing.

If it wasn't for the Premier League putting a bit of effort and investment in to the U-21 league, teams would be in dire straits for decent development matches.
