So Catholics are homophobes in your world view?

Just some of them and there are many homophobes who aren't Roman Catholic.

My beloved grandmother was a devout Catholic - not a homophobic bone in her body.

But you do seek to ostracize.

You want to prevent homosexuals from entering into a contract of civil marriage and therefore to exclude (or to use another word which means the same thing 'ostracize;) them from the Constitutional protections that are only available to married couples.

    You said it yourself.

I am merely pointing out that claiming you do not want to ostracize anyone isn't true. Therefore it's a fib.

    Is fibbing not a sin?
I have no wish to ostracize anyone.

But you continue screaming "liar". :)

Roman Catholic bishop of Derry has said churchgoers can vote Yes in this week’s referendum on same-sex marriage ‘in good conscience’.

Fair play to her. I'll be going to early Mass on Friday and will offer it up for a No vote.

if I go to the late one and offer it up for a yes vote does that cancel your mass out?

You have to do TWO masses for a YES vote, just to be sure.

I find it encouraging, the interest in Mass attendance,in these times of decreasing attendances.

Is there anything to be said for saying another mass?

you better hope there isnt any big sporting games on or too many people losing their keys on Friday , god might get distracted in his efforts to rig a referndum :pac:

No amount of funding the yes side received 4 years ago can match the power of god. Better sacrifice a few virgins to satan.

its a bit like saying why mock people who believe that man didnt land on the moon and insist on making this integral to the educational system, because it deserves to be

He didn't mock the people of faith. He was mocking their beliefs.

Yes... because Belfast is in the same country as... oh... hang on... Belfast is in a different country and our Constitution doesn't apply there...

And here's a case in Drogheda

That's significantly different to the cake actually, it's a business refusing to print the equivalent of wedding invites because they would like to exercise the right to be homophobic.... A business does not have the right to refuse customers on grounds of sexual orientation, that's what they are doing so I have little sympathy.....

There are going to be loads more cases, and each will have little differences, or maybe 'significant' differences as you say. Either way, Lawyers for Yes will have plenty of work on their hands. And plenty of private citizens will be broke, bankrupt etc.
