ChampionC, thanks for sending copy of your image. Sorry for the newbie question, about updating the autotimer from the link provided, it's ipk format, how/where do I use/put this?

FTP it to the box, then Telnet in to it and from the command line type
IPKG INSTALL xxxxxx.ipk

or

Extract the IPK with 7-zip and un-rar the resulting data file and then FTP the un-rared stuff to the relevant directories of your box.

Just got myself an Amiko Alien 2 triple Tuner came with Enigma 2 preloaded but am having a lot of issue with the Enigma crashes a lot and i cant connect to wifi and i have a contast message box in the top right screen soemthing mentioning status, and this wont go away. Should i just reload the Enigma on the box?

No harm to reflash. Many of us had to do 2 flashes because the box was very laggy after the first. Seems crazy but that's how it was

Kinda new to the alien box thing. I have lost a certain number of HD Channels and am wondering how i get them back. Cheers in advance if someone can help me. Some sports and movies are missing. Running an alien 2 box on enigma 2.

What do you mean lost? Are they not listed in any of the bouquets? if you press the red button when looking at the channels, it gives you the list of all the channels, can you see them there?

yes i ca see them in print after pressing the red button, but when i select the channel pressing ok, the screen goes blank and says. SID not found in PAT.

Thay have most likely changed transponder. Sky are making ongoing upgrades and changes these days. Get the Autobouquets plugin and run it to add the right frequencies for channels

Ah ok. ive found some of the ones that arent working in my favourities blue button files, ie listed under the Sport of Movie file.

They are coming up under the "red button- All" button when i press it. Is there a way to select them from the All botton screen and relocate them under the blue button favourites file.

A good alternative to Autobouquets is Rat's Bouquets Plugin.
It downloads updated Bouquets from a server to your receiver and I much prefer the order to Autobouquets .

There is also a Rat's Picon plugin which updates the Picons stored on your receiver .
Both of these plugins work on the Alien 2/Triplex.
I will upload them to the Alien 2 firmware thread now.

It's just Sky Sports free opening day for the new Premier League season, matches will be available free on Sky 2 and Pick TV for the day.

Hi, I am considering buying the Golden Media Spark Triplex.

Have a few questions.

Is it possible to use a network drive to record and timeshift etc? Or does it have to be a a drive connected to the USB port.

And also, will the parents be able to use it?

Lastly, is there any sort of channel list? I am just wondering can I get Dave, challenge and home on it?

Hey, managed to flash my GM tripled with championc's image. Needed to reflash a few times and it seems to be pretty stable now.
Just a few things that are causing problems though. MTV shows the correct picture but the audio from MTV+1 and this happens with RTE aswell where audio from another channel comes through.
Also 1Channel is still causing the green screen..any ideas?

You can record to external USB Storage devices or trough network to PC or Network Access Storage devices

It depends on the person really, for basic functions Spark is easy to use, Enigma2 can do a lot more but is slightly more unreliable, however I actually find E2 easier to use and more user friendly when set up correctly.

Not quite sure what you mean by channel lists, you can download pre-made channel lists for both Spark and E2 which will save you some time organizing. Dave and Home are subscription channels from Sky, if you have a valid Sky viewing card you can use it in the Alien 2 to receive it, that's a grey area on these forums so I can't really say anymore.

Challenge is a free-to-air channel so you can receive it on the box.

Yeh it's a common enough issue when flashing a new image, go to MENU-SETUP-SYSTEM-AUTO LANGUAGE SELECTION and make sure;

Audio language selection 1 is set to English
Prefer AC3 track is set to yes

I'm recalling from memory as I'm not in front of the TV but I think that's all you need to change. You can also press the yellow button when on the channel to change the audio track.

What version of 1Channel are you using? I posted the latest one in the Amiko Firmware thread.

I had same issue with 1Channel, just reinstalled with newest .ipk in firmware thread as Nutzz has said and working now

If you are running the box for Saorview and fta Satellite then you get the saorview list of channels and the list on Freesat, and thats what is available (using 28.2E satellite)

Challenge is available on fta satellite.
Dave is available via streaming on filmon which is available through the TSmedia plugin though the resolution is not great (see http://www.filmon.com)

what can i do to my alien 2 box to get back channels. no HD channels working and some channels freeze and then screen goes blank. is there something i download or update. relatively new to this so a step by step guide would help.

Are you sure your dish is aligned correctly ?

yep. its up years and never had a prob. a picture will freeze and then the signal will go. i can still get some channels like bbc and sky news, not in hd. it will come back after a while, like a half hour or so and then might last for the rest of the day but some days it happens many times.

Channels moving to lesser powered satellite. Tell tale sign is if you lose channels when it rains

Is it happening on the Spark side or Enigma2, or both?
