Thanks for posting, I commented in the general thread that I was surprised too.
Was on phone so a hassle to start one, wasn't just being lazy.

Some posts from the other thread, try move dicussion here.

Lombard's a BJJ black belt and judo blackbelt. He not likely to get subbed.
Boesch's only area of advantage is wrestling, but as above HL's BJJ and judo off set that.
I don't see any area that Boetsch can win really - he says he's gona try n throw Lombard.. don't see that happening -
That sounds like the worst gameplan ever.
"hmm, Olympic judoka you say, maybe I should try throw him."
Also wouldn't Palhares v Lombard be awesome.
    Yeah I agree.
I seen a vid online of Lombard at a no-gi grappling tourney. Snapped a guys leg vicious foot lock.

This won't happen if Lombard wins..

I agree that Lombard should win this but I honestly don't think he deserves a title shot straight away if he beats Boetsch. I think the winner of this should probably get Alan Belcher or even Bisping vs. Stann. Lombard likes to use his supreme power to rush opponents but Boetsch is a big man himself so it could prove difficult for the Cuban to bully him the way he wants.

Hopefully we'll see Kongo on kickboxing form and get a decent scrap with Shawn Jordan. From reading around the net I found out that Kongo is the only fighter on this entire card that was on the original card. Everyone else either was injured or removed.

The Urijah Faber vs Renan Barao has a bit of an underwhelming feeling to it. Don't know why but it just seems both are just waiting around to be beaten by Dominic Cruz.

This is Ebersole's last fight at Welterweight from what I'm reading. According to Wikipedia the guy has fought from HW to WW and now he's moving on to LW. Anthony Johnson take note.

I think Court McGee will be looking to get back on track after his loss to Constantinos Phillippou. He has mounds of potential and a good win against Nick Ring should put him back on the straight and narrow.

Faber posted this on his Twitter page. Not looking good after his weight cut.

I used to look like He-Man. Now I look like Skeletor. On weight.

isnt that just because he is now in the bantamweight rather than the featherweight division

You are comparing a fully hydrated Faber at 145, studio lighting, processed etc.
With dehydrated 135 lb, shot on a phone on the couch.

    Very different conditions really.

Pic of above average UFC Ring Girl

    It's no Arianny though!

It seems you misspelt Brittney there buddy.

Id rank Logan & Brittney above Arianny. Naturally better looking and supposed to be generally a lot nicer people.

I can agree with Britney being above Arianny but Logan, really? I don't see it.

Yeah, its poor tonight. Damn Canadians! I just pause it for a couple of mins before the match and then hit play to avoid the buffering.

0-2 in the fantasy, keeping to form!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 786 ✭✭✭Kurz

Ryan Jimmo has a nice record with a few nice scalps on it. I hope he's good. It looks like they've been trying to re-stock that division a bit of late.

    Holy ****!!

    7 second ko

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,659 ✭✭✭unknown13

Jimmo could fight again tonight, if he wanted.

Next LHW to pull out of a fight is going to be replaced by Jimmo.

Jimmo gets a lot of flack for being boring and he just zipped a lot of traps shut :pac:

This has been a really good card so far! Hope it stays on form. Caraway for FOTN so far :)

ESPN has live tennis on......I have a bad feeling about this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,659 ✭✭✭unknown13

That was a hometown decision, there. Mc Gee won that fight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 516 ✭✭✭Jayo_M

Court McGee robbed there imo. A draw at the very least, because Ring got destroyed in that last round. Also bitter because that gives me a negative score in the fantasy :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,061 ✭✭✭leggo

Criticism of Rosenthal is a bit harsh IMO, my gut reaction when I saw it was that Clements called for a low blow. I didn't think he'd been hit low but assumed he had by his reaction. Imagine Rosenthal thought the exact same. And the fact Clements paused and looked at the ref indicates it's more shenanigans on his part than anything else.

This has actually been a great card. Some great fights, really impressed by Riddle, I never really rated him before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,061 ✭✭✭leggo

Quality finish and fight from Riddle. Did exactly what he needed, when he needed to do it. I'm a fan after that.

Lads, this seems odd, but I have a bet with a friend, were elbows to the face legal in Pride? Just for conformation, so i can prove he is wrong ha. Thanks fpr any responses :)

They were illegal. If I can recall.

Yep, definitely illegal. They reckoned elbows ruin fights by ending fights due to cuts.

    Thanks guys

Not a good day for my picks.

not just on the ground. All elbows afaik

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 516 ✭✭✭Jayo_M

I'm 1/8 tonight, and I lost those 50 points because I boosted some other guy that lost lol. Good thing I'm not a betting man.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 786 ✭✭✭Kurz

I'm not much of a better but I'd love to know if bookies take bets on nutshots. I'd put a lot of money on Kongo landing a good one in this fight.

Crowd are a shower of morons tonight.

    Why?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 516 ✭✭✭Jayo_M

Well, think thats me getting a big fat 0 tonight.

How disappointing was that from Lombard. I thought he won 29-28 (1st Boetsch, 2nd and 3rd Lombard), because Boetsch did zero damage and had zero takedowns but Lombard looked as if he didn't want to be there, or was just trying to do the absolute minimum to get the result. Whatever it was, it didn't work. He was the main reason I stayed up for this. His bandwagon is going to be quite a bit lighter after this.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 786 ✭✭✭Kurz

Pretty bad show alright. It seems that a load of mid-level guys were given a chance and just showed up for a paycheck. Fairly disappointing event.
