I wanted to bring in fox or Hoovield and lallana but they play Utd and City in their first 3 so staying away for now.

Harte is 50/50 to play as is Clichy.

But mid/forwards are good to go. But I would look to replace Diarra

Right i mixed it up a bit

    Krul

    Fabio
    Simpson
    Hangeland

    Yaya Toure
    Silva
    Kagawa
    Hazard

    Torres
    Agureo
    Pogrebnyak

My subs are Cerny barnett shawcross britton, would love to get rooney in and pair him with aguero but i would have to downgrade toure

Would have 2 keepers that will start. Always good to have the option. Defense might be considered a bit weak with no players from 'big' clubs in there. Toure i'm not sure of he does have a good ff record but i think there could be better value around that price. Kagawa it remains to be seen. Could be a points-magnet, but i'm not convinced yet Fergie will do a 4-4-1-1, he's been playing with a 4-4-2 for a long time now... i still want a United mid but at the moment i'm looking at Young/Valencia

My thinking is that Fox can wait a while to be played. I'll be benching two of those defenders each game so I don't mind having Fox on the bench for his first 3. The man got 9 assist last season or something like that so I'm keen on keeping him. Same goes for Diarra, he's my cheap mid that won't play for me often but is a threat based on his few showings last season. You're right about Clichy and Harte though, but I'm willing to wait and see with Harte.

As for City's defence everyone..... If Real Madrid go ahead with buying Richards than Zabaleta is wide-open for FF selection considering there is pretty much nobody he will be rotated with. So I'm gonna keep an eye on that.

it is annoying that Harte and Clichy won't be nailing down a srart every week because they both so good FF wise. I mean Harte is FF gold at that price! Why McDermott, why?

Still a bit of tinkering to do, but happy enough with the selection.

How dya know Harte would be automatic starter? Played lb for them last season and scored last night too. Shorey is only cover imho

@FatRat: Monk is unlikely to start imo. He was poor when called upon last season and Swansea have signed a Spanish centre back Chico who Laudrup has worked with before.

I think Maloney is a better option than Diarra. Frei might even be worth a look if Dempsey leaves. I'd like a Spurs player too considering their kind start.

I just have a feeling will be rotated with shorey because of his age

He only played 32 of their 46 games in the Championship last season. He's a year older and playing at a higher level this season. I'd expect a fair bit of rotation between the two.

I might still take a chance on him at the start though.:pac:

Taylor is not first choice. Santon and Simpson are likely to be ahead of him. Really don't think he's a good option at 5.5m. Gorkss may lose out to Mariappa too.

    Make another 20!!!

Park and Nzogbia must go i reckon plus Evans is injured and Baines is too dear considering Everton can't kick a ball till after Xmas.
Dzecko and Sturridge wont be first choice this season either.

My team, any thoughts? 1.0 left in the bank. Will swap out Cole before his blank GW for whoever is doing well at that price.

Looks good to me, except I don't fancy Newcastle's early games. Also, Walters' returns were terrible in the last 1/3 of the last season, I'd avoid him at that price.

Any opinions on this lads? I think it has a pretty good balance to it, i'm not entirely happy with it, but i guess you never are...

I can stick pienaar or seb larsson instead of walters shawcross for simpson?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

@Farranree - Yeah I like Larsson, or McLean is always fun. Shawcross is good, or Wilson is a cheap way into the Stoke defence.

I'd say it still needs tweaking, defence is a bit weak looking. I would be wary of Young, be prepared for a lot of rotation. Taarabt and Vaz Te are both risky shouts too, I think there's better value out there like Nathan Dyer, Pilkington, or Hoolahan (or Mark Noble if you want to get in WHU players). I'd also suggest Pogrebnyak instead of Vaz Te, cheaper and has a double gameweek.

I've only got Pearce from Reading. I'm not mad on their dbl gw tbh. I'd be surprised if they got anything (at all) away to Chelsea, and Stoke won't be a walkover either. Plus it means probably having to use (unnecessary) transfers after... which i'm not mad on the idea with. The United mid conundrum is a real headache tbh. No one can say 100% Kagawa/Young/Nani/ Valencia will start the first game. Two of them will, possibly 3. I just went for Young because i remember him getting a pretty blistering start last season, that and i only have 8.5... truth be told i'd probably be looking to ship him after a few weeks for one of the other 3 i mentioned. Vaz Te is a quality player. He's a bit hit and miss, but WH's opening fixtures are very appealing... so many choices in the 5-6m striker bracket, but at the end of the day i've gone for him. Taarabt is a risk, but i think when this boy's on form he can be real ff gold... we'll see. defense i'm pretty happy with. United keeper in goal, and two Chelsea defenders (both with an eye for goal), and the appealing dbl dgw to start off with (followed by a home game v Newcastle), i'm pretty happy with that...

Here's my team for the moment.

    DE GEA

    LESCOTT---A.COLE----HARTE

    KAGAWA---BRITTON--HAZARD--SONG

    AGUERO---ROONEY--POGREBNYAK

    JAASKELAINEN,CLARK,WHITEHEAD,KOSCIELNY

Subject to (many) changes but any ideas who I should keep as certs?

Personally i've avoided any 4.5 mids. For just .5 more you've got a few mids that realistically should score you ALOT more. I don't know about Song either, if RVP stays, maybe, but otherwise i'd seriously doubt his ff potential... Kagawa i'm not sure of (yet), your defense is pretty solid but again Harte raises questions about how much game time he'll actually get. Obviously if he plays there's massive potential for points there. Aguero and Rooney you can't argue with that, and Pog well he's one of a multitude of options in the cheap striker range, everybody's taking a punt one way or the other in that regard...

    cole fabio rafael macartney

Britton seems to be the best of the really cheap mids,I'll change my team once the transfers are done by clubs & put up on the FF site. There may be a chance of some gems to be unearthed.I'll keep Kagawa as he looked the part in United's friendly the other day. It's a toss up between Song & Ramsey,as you said without RVP there,Song may not be as effective, the two were brilliant last season.

Somebody tell me why I should be picking Hazard over Mata. Seems to be a lot of love for him here, bit risky I would have thought for a young guy coming from Ligue One. Will he be a nailed on starter?
