Got a pic? Wouldn't mind seeing that.

Here it is. You can see the lines clearly on tails. The pixels are much blurrier as well, by comparison the s-video cable I got for the N64 and SNES looks an awful lot better, not blurry pixels or colour bleed.

That looks very similar to an issue I had with a Snes.

How does the picture look if you just use composite over the RGB cable? (so plug the cable into the other scart socket, should be composite only)

    Just tried that.

I looks absolutely appalling. Possibly the worst compsite signal I've ever seen and it's in black and white (probably the mod).

    Definitely a cable problem.

Yep, the mod makes everything but RGB black & white. You can mod it not to, I think it involves replacing an oscillator though, best of buying an RGB cable

Well, it looks like Super Metroid on the WiiU Virtual Console is going to be 50hz here. You know what will solve this problem? Killing me, the messenger.

I had a Snes which only output in black and white over composite. I didn't have an RGB cable to test it out.

So I bought one and it gave exactly the same video issue you're getting. But it happened across several different RGB cables.

Hopefully a cable replacement solves it for you. Could never figure out what was wrong with my one.

Who makes these decisions like, what sort of caveman figures Europeans with the all new HD Wii U likely have it plugged into a crt tv via composite that isn't 60Hz friendly?

Oh god, remember the argument some diehard Nintendo fanboys were using in defence of this:

'Nintendo are right, you grew up with 50hz, it's the correct 'retro-nostalgic feeling'.

    Bollocks to that!

I suppose those same people are using their Wii U via an RF adapter & a 14" tv then?

Is that pic from a CRT or LCD? Looks manky altogether. :(

An LCD. Yeah it's not great up close but it's ok far away and a hell of a lot better than composite but I'll be looking to get a new cable asap.

Anyone played this? Looks like one of those games that's either laughably terrible or brilliant.

    Miami Crisis (Nintendo DS)

It's also known as Miami Law and seems to be not bad, a Japanese homage to American tv crime dramas, worth a go I'd say.

Yeah I saw it in gamestop and thought it looked interesting but decided to leave it and bought skate 3 instead. Might pop back and get it though.

How much was it in Gamestop?
Looks interesting alright, although I am right over my games budget right now, with several games incoming over the next few days.

€14.99 for a used copy so roughly the same as amazon including postage.

Any thoughts on the new Anamanaguchi album? Haven't had a chance to listen to it in it's entirety yet - well over an hour long - but seems like a real advancement of their sound from first impressions. A welcome variety of styles and indeed genres explored. I was worried when the first song or two conjure up some techno excesses, but even they're handled surprisingly well. Plenty of more familiar tracks too, plus a few more mellow, moody efforts.

Also, there's a song called EVERYTHING EXPLODES.

Seem to be mixed feelings about the new Daft Punk album as well, but I'll buy it anyways.
I haven't bought a CD in a couple of years but now feel compelled to pick up the new Daft Punk, Depeche Mode and Chvrches albums, assuming my local Golden Discs have them in stock!

    So weird....
Who knew Golden Discs would wind up being the go to place for physical music again?
It's like Dublin in '84 all over again!
