I'm a girl and I watch porn so not sure I could turn around to a guy and say you watch too much porn, it's off! It might be a dealbreaker for him to have a GF who watches porn [and reads it, porn isn't just limited to poor quality internet video clips] but wanting babies and listening to Leonard Cohen are the only dealbreakers for me.

What is it with you and porn? Well too much of anything is a bad thing I suppose. If its taking over the sex life then there's a problem.

hey im not saying watch no porn etc,but i think there should be a limit on the amount one watches in a day,if for example it takes up somebodys sex life then its not such a good thing,if however its a mutual thing then i suppose its not as bad,but im sure there are mutual couples out there who are obsessed with it,and watch way to much of it..

hey im not saying don't watch TV/play video-games/read books/play football/use the internet/etc/etc/etc etc,but i think there should be a limit on the amount one does in a day,if for example it takes up somebodys sex life then its not such a good thing

Too much of ANYTHING can be a bad thing. Porn is a form of entertainment, like everything I listed, and many more besides. If any form of entertainment is taking over your life, or parts of it, it's a bad thing. The particular type of entertainment is irrelevant

Nobody can answer your questions. How much is too much? Well an addiction or obsession is too much but other than that I don't know. In general it wouldn't bother me.

My boyf lied to me about the amount he watches for the last 3 years. I only found out recently that he watches it from looking up stuff on his laptop and going into his history. I was quite shocked at the amount he watched and really upset that he lied to me about it! He told me he was only watching it because he was stressed from exams and that he usually doesnt watch it and I said fair enough but then I caught him out again stop and I know he is lying about it.
He told me he only lied to protect our relationship because he didnt know how he felt about it. To be honest im more annoyed that he has lied to me and lied very convincingly it has me paranoid about what else he has lied to me about. It makes me feel quite sh!t!

It's not a dealbreaker for me. Only one real dealbreaker for me tbh - cheating. My bf watching porn wouldn't worry me in the slightest.

I'm a girl- if I was seeing a guy who watched a lot of porn it wouldn't bother me in the least. Free time is exactly that, and far be it for anybody to dictate to another what they should do with theirs.
Where it would become a problem is if it was so excessive that is was affecting other aspects of his life and/or our sex life.
I have hobbies that take up a lot of my time. If a guy tried to tell me I was spending too much time cycling/reading/whatever, I'd have a huge problem with that.

watching large amounts of porn is different to cycling,you have to acknowledge that they get their ideas from it,i know a few girls who have been put off by this in the past,im not saying this on behalf of everyone its just my view on it,there is a such thing as watching too much,its different to say someone who reads too many books or plays a little too much badminton in the summer,its a completely different kettle of fish.If you think what the repotaire and outlook of a guy who watches to much porn,to the repotraire a and outlook of a guy who doesnt watch so much,it does change the way you behave somewhat,to completely ignore this is foolish..

I suppose I was referring to conventional (ish) porn, which I see absolutely nothing wrong with whatsoever, in fact I think it's healthy. So in that regard, yes, it is comparable to spending a lot of time on another hobby (cycling was just one example btw).

if you read a book you are stimulating your imagination as its up to your brain to manufacture images,and imagine what would the scene the authour is describing would be like etc..as opposed to have a movie do it for you..

What ideas though? Do you mean that some guys try to convince girls to re-enact scenes that they're not comfortable doing? If that's the case, surely it's a matter of discussing it and only doing what both partners are comfortable with?
Plenty of people are into very kinky sex, and as long as both partners are willing and open to it then there's no issue.
At the end of the day communication is key in any sexual relationship.

wrong i know some polish women who hold more traditional family value catholic principles than our irish counterparts swinging for fights,drinking and swearing,you have to admit on friday nights,and football fan expiditions we live up to our name :pac:

Little tip johnjoe - if you're consistently having negative experiences with a diverse group of people, the common denominator is you, not everybody in that group.

On topic, I find it strange that whenever anyone talks about watching porn, a lot of people immediately assume that you're talking about an obsession or addiction. It's as if you can either not watch porn at all or you can be so into it that it interferes with your sex, love or social life. Replace porn watching in the OP with throwaway paperback novel reading, or stamp collecting and it looks a lot more bizarre.

Video games often get a similar treatment.
