Press the punch button just once every second or two rather tapping on the button really fast like a loon. That's how I did it.

just won the cage match with rock against mankind and shamrock.. only prob is i spent a half hour trying to get out of the cage and when i did i see i was suppose to pin.. agghhhhh, gotta read objectives properly, overall much improved from last yr.. only rented last yrs one for a wk, just for road to wrestlemania.. getting worried that the attitude mode is gonna finished early and thats the game finished til next yr!!

Just had an epic 40 min last man standing hell in a cell match (how great is it that you can go that? Anyone know if there's a way to do an I quit in the cell?) between Vader and Cactus Jack(ear revenge grudge match, 15 years in the making!), I was Vader. Cactus is one tough ****er, got up from a powerbomb through the cell roof at 9, got up from a last ride off the cell through the table (awesome) at nine, got up from about 4 vader bombs and power bombs, moonsaults and everything. Bet him in the end by german suplexing him through the cell roof onto a pile of chairs and ring steps which I had put in the centre of the ring.

Finished the attitude mode cept for the off script bit, loved it. They've found a good formula, just let us play through good storylines that happened, hope they stick with that, they could do a WWE 14: Ultimate Feuds and be able to play through some of the best ones, Cena and Edge and of course big show and the big bossman, coffin surfing!

JR & The King on commentary is for the Attitude Mode only. There's no way to change the default commentary for single and Universe Modes.

Yeah it's always been like. Just has preset matches set up to start off but once you start changing things up manually, no 2 universe modes will be the same

Bad news is a-coming!

THQ is in a financial downward spiral and things only seem to be getting worse for the publisher as it has now defaulted on one of its lenders.

The company currently has a $50 million credit facility with lender Wells Fargo, but it has been forced to default on part of loan after failing to meet certain obligations set in the agreement. Despite the default Wells Fargo has agreed to continue accepting funding requests from the company while it tries to reach an agreement over the defaulted debts, however the lender noted that an agreement may not be possible.
THQ took the credit facility out in September last year over a four year term, meaning that the publisher must pay back any outstanding debts by that time, and based on a default this early it’s not looking good. THQ’s stock also dropped 55 percent last week following underwhelming financial results.

To further add to the worries, THQ also admitted that it is unable to file its quarterly 10-Q report–a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission report that is compulsory for all publicly traded corporations. The reason given was that it was unable to file in time “without unreasonable effort or expense,” but expects to have it done within the five-day extension period.

All of these issues spell doom for the floundering publisher unless it can turn its fortunes around quickly. Sadly, I don’t see a way they can do that, especially having just announced that three of its biggest releases have all been delayed, South Park, Metro: Last Light, and Company of Heroes 2.

I feel bad for anyone who bought the fan access pack, looks like you might not be getting your moneys worth..

Really hope somebody picks up their game catalog(think Ubisoft have shown a slight interest). Saints Row, Red Faction, Darksiders, Metro and that South Park rpg all deserve new homes. Hard to know will EA go for the WWE game, it'd need quite a bit of work for the upcoming jump to Next Gen too.

It depends though if THQ do go under, which looks likely, what happens to yukes? Will EA take the WWE licence and bridge them with one of their HQs? After some reading, Im not even sure EA would take the licence, as WWE games are hardly big sellers nowadays. But that could all change with EAs great marketing. Or will WWE make the jump to gaming and start publishing "WWE Games" and keep yukes as the developers... time will tell.

Can someone explain how WWE universe works? What do you do? How do you play it, pick a wrestler or just play all the shows? How do you get the attitude wrestlers in?

It works the same as the weekly shows and the PPVs that WWE run. You can edit the universe to your liking, who is on which rosters (Raw, smackdown, etc), the titles that each programme has (wwe championship, united states championship, etc), and you can change who holds the title if you wish.

To play universe mode you can select an individual show from 'Schedule' and look at the card for that show, which usually consists of singles matches. If you want to play as someone in that match you need to select that match and pick the wrestler after the usual entrances. If you dont want to wrestle that match or skip an entire show, select 'simulate' for every match.

Assuming you want to create a weekly show where the attitude era stars compete, you need to go back into schedule, highlight a day that is blank (tuesday, wednesday, friday, saturday are usually free) and hit the create button, select 'major show' and customise the show to include the Raw is War roster on the top right hand side. Pick the titles for that show and the logo, arena, etc.

I hope that makes it a bit clearer

I've been getting Universe mode cutscenes by the bucketload over the last few days. Here's what I did and recommend.

1. Leave no wrestler without a roster to increase variety.
2. Create a show for the Attitude Era wrestlers.
   I just went with Raw Is War on the Tuesday.
3. Create a PPV each month for the Attitude Era wrestlers.
   I went with one two weeks after each regular PPV. So now there is a PPV every two weeks, but it alternates between Attitude era and Current era.
4. Unless you are determined to move them to new teams, DO NOT REMOVE DEFAULT TEAMS/STABLES. I'm pretty sure I've gotten a glimpse of a cutscene based around The Corporation stable.
5. ANY match listed as "Highlight match" WILL have a cutscene and centre around a feud.
6. This is probably one of the most important ones that changed everything for me. Check to see if you can interfere in the match.
7. If it is a standard one-on-one match and you cannot interfere, this will be a sure sign that a cutscene/feud is developing around these superstars.
8. You obviously can't interfere in tag matches or gimmick matches. However, these can still continue a feud/cutscene and gimmick matches rarely appear on the weekly card without a feud involved.
9. Obvious things like the same superstars having similar matches 2-3 weeks in a row signifies a feud is taking place.
10. You have to either play these matches, or let them get through the entrances and press START instead of picking a superstar. If you press START instead of picking someone to play as, it will let the game simulate the match CPU vs CPU.
11. You still need to let the CPU vs CPU matches finish for it to count as part of the feud/story, even if the cutscene happened during the entrance (e.g. attacked while making their entrance).

That's all for now, I'll add more later if I can think of any. This has tripled the amount of cutscenes I've been getting. No character specific ones yet though, but I did get an odd one where Vince appeared after Godfather beat Shamrock w/Bossman. Vince applauded and Godfather looked confused. Handicap match the next week. Bossman/Shamrock vs Godfather. Nothing after that though because we hit a PPV and Shamrock defended a title against my CAW Owen Hart.

I'd like to have as many Boards.ie CAWs as I can. I've been using the keyword "boards.ie" for anything I upload.

Good tips. I ended up making an attitude era only ppv in april and just called it summerslam and its ended up appearing every year now. :pac:
